So are we out of the running for Morris, or do you think we structured it in a way that we can still get him at 3 mill?
10 mil per based on what some of these other guys got, that’s a hell of a deal, I love it, we have our SG locked in for years now. And if nothing else it’s a good tradable contract. If it seems like too much to anyone, remember Meyer Lemons got 2 years 2 mil, and the other day we were discussing maybe having to offer him 12-15. Edit: yes I have reading comprehension issues, I read that as 4 years 40 mil. 3 years 40 mil is still fine, we needed to keep him, he was the best guard left available by a mile.
I think he was always a vet minimum signing if we were trying to keep him. Which I think for him is between 2 and 3 mil.
KCP got just over 13 per year, maybe a tad over what we would have hoped but still, given all these crazy deals that ain't bad at all.
Hopefully we can still get him! Not sure about the hard cap numbers? We went a little over what was talked about for KCP.
Gah, my friggin brain, I read that as 4 years 40 mil. I still don’t mind it, we needed to retain him, he became absolutely key.
Yeah, he was a must sign. And it really isn't a bad deal considering. It's pretty much what he's worth to us. Or at least within reason.
Bargain deals for KCP and Harrell. Waiting on KCP was the only thing giving me anxiety. Lets finish building the rest of the roster, see how dangerous we’re gonna be.
Not sure how Rob structured it to stay under the hard line, but I just saw the third year s partially guaranteed, so it's likely in that detail.
Yeah, that's what I was worried about. But we shall see. Maybe AD takes a little less in a 2 plus one deal knowing he'll be up for big time money on the next contract.
Everyone wins. He is absolutely worth that money and the 3-year contract; to us at least. Look at that 27-8 year old core!
This is a bit confusing but the $68 million is talking about how much he’s earned overall from the Lakers including the past few years. I don’t get how this contract is being structured to come out to an average or $15 million for the first two years though, or how that even makes sense considering the hard cap restrictions.
Great signing. KCP was, truthfully speaking, the first free agent who was worth a damn who signed with us in years. He paid his dues with this franchise and played his guts off in this last title run, he proved his value. Guy is a Laker for life in my eyes. Let's run it back.
Fantastic!! Just what we needed, and it looks like KCP and Klutch negotiated him into being a part of our core moving forward with AD. I’m wondering if you can still front weigh contracts and that’s how he’s getting $15m fir the first two seasons?
