Mathews in 2019/2020 40% from 3 in the playoffs and 36% in regular season. Good replacement for Green
$3.6 million means BAE right? I'm happy with that. Immediately replaces Danny Green's production at a budget price.
That's a bargain. I wanted us to go get him when he left Portland. Solid wing addition an a championship squad.
This is just wonderful! Look, he's a replacement for Danny, but at the fraction of the price. 1 inch shorter, but heavier, stronger. Unlike Green who is mostly known as a team defender, Wes has a reputation for being a more physical man defender. Can hit the 3. He's a year older than Green, but hey... he'll do the job. Let's see how much he has played lately (reverse chronological order): 67, 69, 63, 73; average 68. He's not quite the iron man like DG (68, 80, 70, 68; average 71.5), but it's close. Again, wonderful job by Pelinka and... Welcome Wes!
He replaces Green for $3.6m. If Green made that amount, I wouldn't have been nearly as irate with his performance. Replacing him for 1/4th the rate AND getting Schrod, that's good GM'ing.
let's hope matthews doesn't start bricking every 3 like all the other shooters this team has acquired in recent years
Imagine: LeBron/Pope/Wes/AD/Ibaka. Schroeder/Eagle/Kuzma/Kieff/Dwight That's 10 deep and there's literally no bad player there.
