I remember photoshopping signs to say “Please Stay Away”

I don’t feel that way any longer

Wish we could keep him. Don't think he's gonna enjoy playing with those 3 ball shooters.

oh well, he came back, helped us a lot and I wish him nothing but the best.

Great news: this was the best frontcourt in the league last year and no need to rock the boat.
Versatile with the guys willing to do what the team needed whether it be dirty work on the court or sitting on the bench against certain matchups

Great news and I am a fan of Kieff's versatility. Can play the 4 or be a stretch 5 when we go small. Time to sign these two guys.

Would Dwight spurn the Lakers a second time? Would be dumb to do that. His legacy would go back to being a clown.

Doubtful. Only chance Lakers fans would hate him is if he joined the Clippers. I don't think most Lakers fans even care about the C Bags anymore. The last time the C Bags were relevant was over a decade ago and they have only won one championship the past three decades. Clippers are the only team that annoys the hell out of me outside of the Spurs dumb front office.

I think Dwight would be unwise to go elsewhere, he’s found an absolutely perfect role here where he thrives. But I’m not gonna hate on him if he does move on, he helped us a win a title, I’d wish him well, just not when his new team were playing against us. If he wants to get paid or have one last long term deal I can’t fault him though, but I would still think his market value has to be pretty low because of how bad every stop he had before this last one went. He was almost out of the league before we picked him up, his contract wasn’t even fully guaranteed that’s how little he was trusted. I would hope he repays that by going for round 2, but who knows.

he's made a ton of money in his career. who's going to offer him a bigger role at bigger money in a situation that's better? feel like maayyyyybe GS. and that's a longshot on at least two fronts if not all three.

morris hasn't made as much cash (though still a good chunk), so if someone comes to him with a big bag, he could walk.

i agree with weezy that it makes sense for howard to just take the raise over the min here and "enjoy life" as is his wont.

Do we have our bi-annual exception? That's 3.6 million dollars. That seems like a good contract for Dwight. I think McGee will opt-in. Split the MLE on Jae Crowder and Wesley Matthew's (with Crowder getting the bigger share). We'd be set.

I follow the Sparks (the real CP3, Ogwumike sisters, and mostly Sydney Wiese but who cares right?) to some extent and boy I didn't know Te'a Cooper is his wife. That said, I feel very good about Dwight's chances of coming back next season.

Hoo boy, that’s the Dwight I know. Doesn’t want to “play for free anymore”, :D he made 2.5 mil last season. Sorry Dwight, if you weren’t a clown at your last 5 stops you’d have gotten a “real” contract, instead of having to be saved from being out of the league. Take what you’re offered or go see what you can get elsewhere, but I doubt a few mil elsewhere is going to make up for not being on an awesome team like he was on last season.

With all the Lakers’ guards opting out, Green being traded, and minimal noise about the depth on C/F, maybe the mgmt already had an agreement. im optimistic they’ll keep Dwight.

    My take from the clip...

I didn't think it sounded like he wanted a payday, just a guaranteed deal. All the headlines i read this morning make it sound like he's looking to get PAID, but that's not my takeaway from what he said.

He definitely earned guaranteed money, but my position has been all along is that we shouldn't offer him much more than the vet min (I'd be OK with the BAE instead). At his age, with his injury history, the fact that this is the only place that has worked out for him in a really long time, the fact that he's made his money, the fact that we took a chance on him, AND got him a ring. Yeah, he owes us a little discount.
