If we can’t find a trade partner to offer Kuzma for a more established player, I say we go all in and start him over Danny Green. At this this stage he’s a better player than DG offensively and defensively. He might be better psychologically as a starter than coming off the bench.
he kind of an idiot. I actually blocked him on twitter so I don't have to see his outrageous poorly researched opinions broadcast as fact. He thinks he's a social justice warrior now and that people care what he says like Hollywood celebrities thing that. I personally don't. I'm there for basketball news, not politics from a cornball dresser that can't get his game together consistently. I wish him well at his next stop. I doubt he finishes the year here.
i think im one of the few holding out hope for him...i dont mind his off the wall personality and i hope this year he earns that sizable deal he wants
Im with you. I don’t know what he’ll grow into, but I feel he contributed enough to the championship this year that I don’t want him to go. As much as fans complain about Kuz, his defensive versitility is valuable, and we know it works with this team. He’s also still a few years away from his peak. I don’t think we just get rid of him and slot in someone else willy nilly and hope it works out as well. That would be silly willy
8.5ppg/2.8rpg/.5apg/1.2TO's on 35.4%FG and 31% 3PT in 21.6mpg. We won the finals with Kuzma doing that. We don't need to pay the dude. The time is now and he's not ready, and I frankly don't think he'll ever be as good as he thinks he is.
Basically Kuz is good while he's cheap but I wouldn't want to pay him the big bucks. I don't think there are many good trades out there right now. Maybe he gets moved along with Green at the deadline. I think this free agency time is probably too short to do us much good in that department. But he's got value and he's a decent bench player in the meantime until the right trade comes around.
Let’s see what he’s got shooting wise in his first contract year situation. That’s his biggest weakness, knocking down shots consistently.
I expect Kuz to start the season on the Lakers and have a strong one. Bron should load manage more than usually with the short off season and for Kuz it's a contract year. Then I expect the Lakers to move him and Green at the trade deadline. I like his game to some degree, I like his persona a lot less. I fully expect him to be good enough to draw some interest from other teams.
The complaint is him or his people broadcasting they want a sizable deal. There will be no offer made this off-season because of the 2021 plan, so what are you making noise about as a middle of the road player? nobody is changing their big picture strategy for a player of your caliber. he’s very unaware. If he is insisting on getting paid this off-season and Extended, he simply won’t be here or have to he’ll have to accept he is simply not a priority. but him publicly posturing like he has leverage? Bad move.
Kuzma does have a unique opportunity this coming season if LeBron is going to load manage to start out. I would love to see Kuzma become more of a ball handler and playmaker...would be very interesting to see him in that role as he wasn't terrible at it when we tried him there a year or two ago. Kuz has to hit shots though - that's where he fell short last year. MIssed wide open shots too often.
think he meant "improve as a ballhandler and playmaker". and that would be great. and he's actually done that a bit already. just not sure how high that ceiling is.
Improve and become a ballhandler/playmaker. That's the last part of his game that needs to evolve if he wants to get that paycheck. Right now, he's just a spot-up shooter / slasher who has some versatility because of his size. Also just a reminder that Kuzma started off the year injured and it took him some time to get back into rhythm but tbh I don't know if he ever truly got into rhythm because we didn't need him to - AD/LeBron were SO dominant that it didn't matter.
