i'll be interested to see if what happened this year might take the shine off. honestly, they should consider making a major move if they're going to sell FAs on a different culture, because it's clear PG and kawhi set the tone for that train wreck.

Funny enough - Uncle Dennis actually might have played this right.

He didn't fully believe in the Clippers and that's why Kawhi has a player option for next summer.

Basically, if Clippers don't get their s*** together, Kawhi is gone.

And he's quite possibly gone to the Lakers, whom will have cap space in 2021.

Imagine that...Kawhi and Uncle Dennis dismantle the Clippers in a 2 year period and leave them with no draft picks, no prospects, and no rings and then he bolts to the Lakers...

    EL OH EL.

Nah. Leonard had the Big Head and wanted his own team with just one other star to run with and thought he was good enough to be the Man. Without the personality to truly lead and no idea what his personal needs and load management would do to that team. Then he and that other “star” s*** the bed and choked in the 2nd round. After Ballmer bought his act and mortgaged their future. Now the physical effort from him to actually win a chip is beyond his grasp since reports are and observations of his game in the playoffs are that his leg will not get better going forward. What happens if he can’t load manage now, after having 3 months off this year didn’t work?

Probably true - but I was more saying that the real losers in this are the Clippers - not Kawhi/Uncle Dennis.

They created an out for Kawhi just in case things went south with the Clippers...that 2021 opt out is HUGE now and it will be a topic all year for the Clippers...both PG13 and Kawhi can opt out in 2021 and ONE of them can join the Lakers. The clippers would be TOAST if both of them left AND one of them joined US. Kiss your inglewood stadium goodbye too as you'll be left with no stars, no draft picks for 5+ years, no prospects to speak of, and no rings to show for all that you gave up.

I don't think Prokhorov-heavy will let that happen...he'll pay under the table for players to come

not sure if i want kawhi for 50 games a year and the first two rounds of the playoffs, tbh. as long as we have AD and lebron, we have the horses. we proved it. fill in around them and be ready to replace lebron when he's done. rinse, repeat with AD and lebron's replacement.

i don't think kawhi is that guy. he missed his chance. let him try to gm his way to a better outcome this summer.

I hope both Kawhi and PG are off the clips in a year. Please just go somewehere else, not the Lakers. It's not even because I dislike both of them after all they have done (I absolutely do), the main reason is I don't want to build around soft and/or falling apart primadonnas. Talk about overrated superstars.

i mean, it's both, right? we don't like them because they spurned us, but they also fell apart at a crucial time. let somebody else fight over them. we got AD. ya know, the guy who rained fire upon the liluputians and then hit game winning threes over the giants whilst the orchestrators hacked up furballs.

Nah just comparing billionaire experiences, where they thought they can come in and buy championships. The only difference between Prokhorov and Baldmer is the latter has Lee Jenkins to bend the narrative.

You're right, but I could forgive, say, Luka, Giannis or Mitchell if they did the same to the Lakers but changed their mind. The playoff performance the two morons across the hall just had, they can take their talent elsewhere.

i agree, as high as i was on kawhi last summer, i am lukewarm at best now... i mean, PG is not a leader in any sense of the word, but at least kawhi is a leader on the floor... but both those guys flamed out so hard, i have zero interest in seeing them on this squad. when you look at the championship teams kawhi was on, it makes sense that he excelled as the "quiet assassin" type player... but it's too late now, the second round was the biggest job interview of their lives, and they fell flat on their faces.

My problem with Kawhi, at this point, is that I don't think he would be enthusiastic to let Lebron lead the team and lead him. His ego tells him he is the alpha dog. Lebron is a better leader, at the very least. In fact, I think Davis is enthusiastically gaining that perspective and leadership ability by embracing his time with Lebron. He is going to come out a much better leader and he is not bad at that already. Dude has a positive attitude and communicates. I don't see any of that from Kawhi and not sure I would want him on our team unless he can truly embrace our culture. Same thing could be said about Durant.

Screw Kawhi. I don’t want him. He made his decision and selfishly screwed us as a negotiating pawn.

But if we got him in 2022 I’ll begrudgingly change my toon because I love my team more than I dislike Kawhi

I think it's clear he's damaged goods, and without proper load management, he won't be what he needs to be to give you what you want for what he's paid.

If he's the 2nd star, maybe. But if AD if you best player/leader, is that enough? Kawhi doesn't want to be that guy it appears. Such a weird scenario, but I can't imagine us being in any Kawhi sweepstakes unless Lebron is healthy and staying. For the same or less money you'd be better off pursuing a Giannis.

I think biggest thing will be what does Kawhi have LEFT after another season of carrying the Clippers?

If they work him into the ground, then no, I don't want to be the one left holding the Kawhi bag.

But if they continue to load manage, and we see that he can still play at a high level, it would make sense to have him as our 3rd guy behind AD and LeBron.

Of course, that's if Kawhi would accept the role of being a 3rd option...
