    Playoff Do continues!
16 points, made 3-4 of his 3s. Let me rephrase that...shot 75% from 3. Led us with 10 assists. Passed up Nash on the list

    Another record as well...

Playoff Rondo as a glue guy and third best player, passing the detestable Steve Na$h and Larry Bird on all time playoff assists list with a sure-footed double double - 16-10, shooting 75%, 3 out of 4 from three.

By the way his nicknames on basketball reference are listed as Johnny (understandable), swag (they got that right!) and the yoga instructor (I ain't gonna google that on my computer, it may taint my browsing history).

My faith in you has been rewarded a thousand fold!

Vogel just called him 'Do on the postgame. He would make a very capable coach. Always instructing teammates on the floor. Rondo's three point shooting was a revelation tonight. They are laying off him so much that he had time to set his feet and gather for the shot.

Well don't laugh THAT much. :) Rondo keeps his dribble alive long enough to pick and probe the defense. Timely lobs to Howard, Davis and James.

Not only manning the point, but was looked on to bail us out with a late shot clock three, which is just wild.

Total swag tonight from Playoff Do. This guy has blown my head clean off! I can’t even understand how this is the same player from earlier this year.

Rajon’s speed and getting where he wants to go and handles, on top of everything else, have been pretty amazing. When he’s shooting and passing and running the team like he’s been doing, it’s like we added an elite PG to the roster and frees LeBron to operate in more positions on the floor.

Guy is breaking some records this year. It's unbelievable. Top 5 in assists next year, just put him in a futuristic cryogenic chamber in the regular season so he doesn't get hurt again. I don't think I have ever seen this kind of "elevation of play" in the payoffs compared to regular season, but I'll take it.

In any case, PLEASE KEEP as an assistant coach and we're set for the future.

The truth is, we all had some nasty words for Rondo before the playoffs. I am happy to report this is what I wrote when we started stinkin' it up in the bubble:

So, I still trusted Rondo to help us win. But it seems I did not trust Danny Green. Tsk, tsk. And Vogel hates Dion, so there's that.

He missed a few gimmies but I thought Rondo hustling for rebounds in the second half was huge for us. Those threes he took and missed were ones he made all playoffs. They just didn't go in. I think the Lakers need to seriously look at Rondo handling the ball in close games for a few possessions. He moves the ball and his craftiness catches the Heat off-guard as compared to Bron's traditional style of play.

Sure, his shot wasn't there but those 7 rebounds and 5 assists were key. Most his misses were good looks. The late layup was a big one and I trust him setting the court up late in ball games. Made the right, timely pass for AD's dagger.

Fantastic read about Rondo's approach. The excerpt about Rondo calling out LeBron's negative body language around teammates in games... that's great leadership from Rondo right there. I've noticed Kuz gets most of the wrath... deserving or not, I can't imagine the pressure that places on Kuz if he has to deal with that all game long.
