I gotta be honest, I had never seen Dwight play angry like he did in Game 4. That was new. I wish he had played like this his whole career. He would have been unstoppable.
Attitude was not the only issue for Dwight's decline, nor was a loss of athleticism or a changing league (with 3 pointers). The Dwight that left Orlando was coming off back surgery which stopped him from ever looking like and being superman. Although, as much as that sucked for us, we let go of Bynum who was in even worse condition.
This continues to be so surreal. I could not muster even half an ounce of respect for him after he bailed in ‘13. And to think he’s an integral piece on a Lakers Finals team now. Stranger than fiction.
You couldn’t make this stuff up, if you tried and pitched it you’d be laughed at because it was so unrealistic and cheesy. But here we are, 4 wins away from Dwight being a major contributor on a Lakers title team if we can close this. I was throwing a fit at the idea of him on this team, every podcast I listen to and Lakers Twitter were questioning our FO’s sanity. Dwight has to this point shut all the doubters up, and I couldn’t be happier about it, never have I been more glad to have been wrong.
I’m really happy for Dwight. He deserved every bit of flack that he caught and I disliked the guy for a long time, but it’s nice to see someone in his position let go of their ego and buy into his role and turn his career around.
I predicted Howard was going to be instrumental this season and was met with skepticism...some laughs. Feels good.
Howard played a strong game, kept his head and never went nova with the fouls. This Dwight will be a Laker for life if he keeps this up. His energy/body language and sacrifice is infectious. This series vindicated his real sacrifice (of gametime) in the Rocket series. Dwight helped make the laugh on the Joker this time. Giving him a scooby SMACK.
Webber commented it was a hard screen nothing more... Agree with him on it. Jokic sells being bumped by flailing so Howard did him one last night drawing a foul.
There was that totally bogus nothing but air foul on Jokic near the end under the basket called on Dwight.
Heard last night Vogel spoke to him about toning down the extra curriculars after a play and just do his job. Howard did. Maturity is a beautiful thang...
Players need to talk to Adam Silver about relaxing on these flagrant fouls and emotional situations in games. It's too soft. None of these fouls are flagrant, even the hard fouls.
