This Kuz is a keeper. I don't know at what price, but if Bubble Kuz can play this way moving forward, I don't want to lose him. I don't know what finally clicked or who got through to him during the stoppage, but his approach now is that of a key cog to a championship squad. Complete 180 from my position as m regarding him at the deadline. I still would move him for a 3rd star, if the fit is right. But he's been great for us on both sides of the court.
if we win it all, he'll get paid. a lot. if not, it will be a VERY interesting discussion. i'll deal with it if and when it's necessary.
It was observed that Kuzma tried to match Porter one on one. Got away from the team concept tonight. Yes, he does miss gimmes up close. Did not contribute much on offense.
It was a rough one for Kuz no doubt. Everyone can have a stinker though. Hope he bounces back next game as he's been excellent other than tonight.
I'm encouraged that the Lakers can still win in spite of bad games from both Kuzma and LeBron (half bad). Kuzma should play much better next game - he usually bounces back
He needs to shoot in rhythm. He had 2 wide open shots and instead of just letting it fly, he hesitated and bricked the shot. Early in the game he looked like he was playing hot potato.
He was deferring and being hesitant too much. Too many times trying to make the extra pass when he was open and should have gotten his own. In some ways that's still growth. He's still trying to fit the team concept and doesn't want to go solo show. However, if you're open you have to be aggressive, especially if we are down big and others are struggling to find their offense. I think he'll right the ship. He was better yesterday than the game before, but still struggling. Saw some nice cuts off ball for makes early on but should have been more decisive later.
There are long stretches of the game, when him and Green look like Denver's best players (pretty hard to do with Jokic and Murray on that team). Get your s*** together kid or you're ending up in MIL or some other Detroit.
He was only 4-11, but he wasn't hesitating like he was in game 3. I hate when he's going against Porter. He tries to answer and go 1-1 and Porter takes his game up a notch.
tries hard on D but undisciplined, hes not going to be able to block porter 3pt attempts but still runs hard at his pump fakes, just get ur hand up n challenge best u can do on a guy with that kinda lift on their shots
There's a love/hate relationship with Kuz. When he's hustling for rebounds, putbacks, and making cuts to the basket, he's our third best player. When he's wandering around trying to do too much and then make poor defensive plays, he needs to be benched. I don't know what's in the market for Kuzma. Probably an 18-20 PPG player on a garbage team but if you're a contender, do you really want to pay Kuz? I don't see it. If possible, move him and Danny Green since no one will want Danny Green's contract.
He hasn't been very effective this series other than the back cuts. Not sure where his three ball went, and also his D.
