I don’t hate the Clippers, I hate how they carried themselves all season the second Kawhi and George got there. Fake tough guys, so much trash talk and unearned bravado, they got what they deserved.

But oh man, watching tv today did I hear some all time excuses for this team. Apparently they were never all that enthused about going to the bubble, Lou Williams never really wanted to go, they voted to not continue playing when they had that vote recently, so that’s why they lost. Apparently Denver was better because they’re young and normally the crowd would have caused them to lose, but there’s no crowd so it didn’t hurt them, and the Clippers are old and have families they’re away from so they’re sad and over it and just wanted out.

Long time Laker fan (from Australia), first time posting. I bet a huge time difference with LA as I post this now...?

Wow!!! Just wow!!! It's like I knew this was going to happen, and yet I still feel a sense of shock it did happen.

All season, the Clippers players have had the attitude that they were champions in waiting, and were just turning up for team duties until the banners were unveiled at Staples. To compound to this attitude, the media had also expected them to win the chip, and were dismissive or unwilling to highlight any obvious red flags. People were quick to call Nick Wright and Shannon Sharpe as LeBron fanboys rather than listening to their genuine concerns.

Where I really think it went wrong for the Clippers is that, whenever they lost, internally and externally, there were just excuses, or comparisons with them being superior to the Lakers.

I am sure we heard them all (when the Clippers lost a game):

1 Load Management/ Who cares about the regular season
2 Built to beat the Lakers and shut down LeBron James so nothing else to worry about
3 Who cares if AD gets his numbers, we still beat the Lakers
4 Kawhi is a like Michael Jordan, so don't worry when the chip is on the line
5 Clippers only lost because they took their foot off the gas, but they will win easily next time
6 Clippers have the best two way combination in the league
7 Clippers have the best bench in the league
8 Clippers have the best coaching staff in the league
9 Clippers have the best owner in the league
10 Clippers have the best defence in the league
11 Clippers have dogs in their team. Real rough riders unlike the Lakers
12 They are just coasting until the Western Conference Finals
13 The Lakers should pity themselves they do not have Kawhi, PG, Doc Rivers, Ty Lue, Lou Williams, Zubac, Jerry West etc on their side of Staples.

Mind you, every time they won a game, the media would be like 'the Clippers are amazing... the best team in basketball... how can anybody stop them... LeBron James might never win another ring... Kawhi and Paul George turned down the Laker' etc etc etc.

It's very easy to see how it all fell apart for the Clippers. A team, alongside a media, that expected to just win no matter what, and along the journey, never seriously took any responsibility for losses because they were champions in waiting.

One thing I will say, to conclude this long first post is, I do not buy for a second that the Clippers didn't care or did not want to be in the bubble. There is no chance in hell that is true. This is a team that expected to win the championship, and were so arrogant they believed they could mess around and talk trash to everybody because they were going to be a dynasty. I guess the Cancun jokes are on them now because they never put in the hard yards necessary to compete for a championship like the remaining four teams have done.

Maybe Bron just had his mind on moving to LA, but remember when he wouldn't give Cavs management enough guarantees to secure Paul George in a trade?

Only somebody as dumb as Skip Bayless can claim, on one hand, that Kawhi Leonard is the best player on the planet, but that on the other hand, argue that the Clippers did not win a game because Harrell or Beverley did not play, or that Lou Williams is their closer.

Whenever anybody else gets any kind of numbers or highlights alongside LeBron, Skip is the first to argue "they saved LeBron's legacy".

see, that's what's annoying me a bit. the media gets to win coming and going here. you all drank the kool aid. now take your whippings. the ringer had like, three articles right after the clippers lost with a "well, we already knew this" tone. NO YOU DIDN'T, ASSHATS! you "knew" they were an unstoppable force. until they weren't.

so really...you hate beverly. that's ok; he's annoying as s*** and not very talented. his fake defense isn't fun to watch. and yes, he totally deserves this.

i hadn't seen this stuff. lol, lame. look, i think the bubble is ridiculous (look at who's left besides the lakers--do you really think this is how it plays out under normal circumstances), but trying to say it's more ridiculous for the clippers is weird.

I think Bron was always planning a move down to Los Angeles but was waiting for the right opportunity in terms of his off-court businesses aligning with his basketball career as well as the Lakers having enough assets to create a legitimate team. If the Lakers still had Mosgov, Deng, etc., LeBron would have never came to the Lakers. The first step, and which we must applaud Magic and Rob for, was getting rid of their contracts and building up assets that we eventually traded for AD.

Welcome! I hope you stay because your post is great! Balmer definitely paid the media off. I never quite understood the lack of backlash they received. We had AD+LeBron and I believe the majority of panelists and media members chose the Clippers. Why? Well, those same people are asking themselves the same question now.

You know, I think we did a favor for Lou and even Zubacs. We knew we were NOT in a position at the time to utilize Lou and we put him in a better position. I thought it was an extremely generous thing for us to do. We did NOT do that to screw him, we did it as a courtesy. At that time, he was wasting his years on this team.

This is why I hate them, they have not been humble. They have been asshats and disrespectful of our legacy. I tell you, the thing that I typically love about the Lakers is how humble the front office is. Do you EVER hear Vogel or Jeannie Buss or Pelinka say ANYTHING bad about any other team? NO!!! They always talk about how good someone is and how they are going to have to play their very best to have a chance to beat them, etc. etc.

The Clippers have denigrated us so badly and that is 1A stupid to do. They got our attention the exactly wrong way. F them!! Wish nothing but disaster for that franchise and for Kawhi.

espn frontpage = "did the clippers loss let Lebron off the hook?"

good lord, do these people ever stop? i mean, yea, ballmer has some deep pockets, but still, the cognitive dissonance here is absurd.

I will point out to everyone that the media is, and has been, completely full of crap for years, decades maybe.

It is in ALL areas of life, not just sports. The media has become a joke and needs to be knocked the F out. They control our lives and the minds of this hive country. If you ignore it, you do so at your own peril. Americans have taken this all for granted for far too long. Oh, we can't touch the media because that represents the true rights of our people. That my friends is a crock of s***!! The media is NOT your friend. They work for the globalists and in the end, you will be their minions. You either realize it now and know the time has come to stop them or they win and you work for them with no pay. The sports aspect is pretty much the same, except you get a slightly larger range of opinions because they know it doesn't really matter. It's just opium for the masses.

Jeanie pillow fight tough smacked Ballmer with something in the last year and a half, forgetting now the exact quote, but if I recall he didn't appreciate it. Good on her.
