For a big to move like this and not only be able to take these shots, but hits these shots. We're lucky.

This is at least a great learning experience for AD if the Lakers get past Houston.

They're throwing all sorts of double teams at him (early, late, pre-catch) and they have good straight up post defenders as well. I don't think the Clippers have nearly as good of a post defense as Houston as showed. Tucker is a better post defender for sure compared to Harell or Zubac as an example. RoCo on defense is very similar to PG/Kawhii on how he can shade and recover

yeah, it is a good test for him, not just for the hypothetical next series, but for years to come as folks try to copy houston's model.

he needs to continue to be hyper efficient on offense. still turning it over on doubles sometimes, which will be the last thing he figures out (tim duncan was the same, iirc).

I do agree that PJ plays him really well, everything considered. He'd have an easier time against the Clippers (which is truly scary). On the other hand, the Clips can defend Bron better, because right now he does whatever he wants against Houston.

I think he's having the best midrange game playoffs run of all time

I remember Dirk in 2011 was money from midrange that playoff run. In fact Dirk was money from all over the court during those playoffs.

Ludabrow's footwork in the midpost was impressive. He really showed off his entire offensive repertoire last game. There was nothing Houston could do.

AD is shooting 72% from 16 ft to 3 point line. Teams are playing him hard and force him to shoot it but AD is making them pay. If he can do it consistently, he becomes unguardable. I do want to see his FT% climb back up to the high 80's. It's getting so irritating that our team can't hit FT's!

dirk and kobe killed teams because they could hit the shots everyone was willing to give up. the media nerds made fun of them for it (THREES AND DUNKZ), but they have the rings.

Once again AD was phenomenal. They simply have no answer for him or Lebron. From Ramona tonight: “Davis embraced his height advantage over everyone on the court, finishing with a monstrous 29 points and 15 rebounds in 40 minutes. It was his seventh 25-point, 10-rebound game in this postseason, the most by a Laker since O'Neal had eight in 2004.”

This is why you trade for top 5 players. Props to Rob.

Nope. Gotta wait 3-4 years to see how our kids are doing on whichever teams they’re on to know who won this trade.

The series that will prove that is the Clippers, though. If AD can't show up for that, there will be questions about him. So far, he is proving himself to be a top five player and on his way to being one of the greatest PF's.

    prove which point?

if we get there, almost nobody will be picking the lakers to win, so i'm not sure it's a negative commentary on AD if we don't win there.

i think people forget how few believers there were before the season. once we blew the doors off the conference, record-wise, people tried to pretend like that was the expectation all along.

if we lose to the clips it will be because they got a head start on filling out their roster and we had to basically rip it down to the studs.

i guess what i'm saying is AD is a top five nba player. nothing that happens in the coming weeks will change that.

Took the words out of my mouth.

Literally nobody picked Lakers to win it all or very few did when we made the move for AD - and even as the year was going on, Clippers were getting the hype to win it all.

Nothing will change that even if we lose to the CLippers - AD is still head and shoulders above our young kids and probably dont even make the playoffs if we still had them OR we would likely have been bounced in the first round.

I think both Lakers and Clippers have been as good as advertised in the playoffs...the fact that BOTH of them are up 3-1 against the Rockets and Nuggets is pretty damn impressive, as both Rockets and Nuggets are very good teams and were certainly hyped up to be better than this by the media. If both Lakers and Clippers get the gentleman's sweep, that'll be very impressive. I think if Clippers do it, that will be good for Lakers as it'll give them that pressure to close it out in 5 so they're fresh for the series with the CLippers.

Just get sick of reading their roster is much deeper and more talented than ours. BS. Pretty please someone do a position by position breakdown of matchup talent. The Lakers are peaking at the perfect time and right at the top our superstar duo is bigger and better than their superstar duo. Is PG even a superstar?

What? Almost nobody will be picking the Lakers to win? I mean, that's just not true. Plenty of people believe the Lakers will win. AD still has to step up against the Clippers and the Finals. We have two of the top 6 players in the NBA. There is no excuse for us not to win at this point. Check the posts here... Most believed that the Lakers would be title contenders. Let's stop pretending that the Lakers don't stand a chance, they are the underdogs, etc., We have the best player in the game, the best PF in the game, and a decent enough supporting cast to win it all. No excuses.
