actually, I think the finals start at a predetermined date. there's two conspiracy angles, though: 1. Houston has two household names to gs's one, and this has always seemed to matter. a hou/cle final would be a much bigger draw. 2. it's better for the nba NOT to have a super long break during which there is zero basketball before the finals. plus, two sweeps in the conference finals suggests non-competitiveness of the playoffs, also a pr no no. if gs wins, none of this matters. but if they lose, they then go back to hou for a game 6, having just been routed there and with Houston on a crazy confidence roll. no one believed the clippers could lose to an inferior rockets team, either. my point is that the league had to shamelessly bend its own established rules and precedents to make this even a remote possibility. it's shameful. and not surprising. if I were a gs fan, I'd be livid. I'm annoyed as a fan of reason already.
In fact, let them fight some like hockey...... that's what this guy suggests. Of course he does. Who thinks Howard would have thrown that elbow at him? BS ruling by the league. Looked very much like the back knuckle JR Smith threw.
Somehow, Dwight avoids both a flagrant 2 and a suspension. Talk about blatant favoritism. Even Steve Javie said that is as close to a flagrant 2 as you can get, and his sole purpose is to try to justify the refs' stupid actions. I wish this would get more outrage from fans.
I know, that's the very definition of a "non-basketball play" in NBA speak. If Kobe's swing through that got Ginobli could earn a suspension as an "unnatural basketball act" then what the hell is this, when Howard straight up smacks Bogut in the chops deliberately? Total garbage. I think it's only because Bogut is a big dude. If that were a guard down there taking that elbow, Howard would be serving a suspension. Bottom line, he shouldn't be able to swing those elbows like that, period. That's going to take someone out.
Houston needs another creator/initator on the floor with Harden. A Dragic type would be a perfect fit with that team.
Howard active early; offensively and defensively. Houston's defensive active in general; very active hands, good rotations...
That's about as bad as first quarter as I seen GS play; besides the last game. So, two very bad starts in a row. The plus in this game though is their only down 5
