I was just getting used to the blond hair. Assuming generously it was paying homage to the gold of the famous, "Purple & Gold". Now he'll be gone with the rest of our youth? S***! I guess? F*** it .... am just along for the ride. My whole being is not wrapped up in whether or not we win a ring. Just want to see us be in legitimate contention every year and be entertaining, and with a good CHANCE to win a ring if everything breaks right that needs to "break right" for a championship team.
Season... Yes https://www.basketball-reference.co...uzma&y2=2020&player_id2=kuzmaky01&idx=players Career... No https://www.basketball-reference.co...t=Kyle+Kuzma&player_id2=kuzmaky01&idx=players He's 30 years old and Kuzma is 24 He got 15 million this season. I think people think he's better than he is because he's muscular and looks bad a$$ but looking at his numbers he doesn't do enough to warrant that type of money.
Hot take from "sources"... only Teague is in Atlanta. On the Morris move, I think his game is a better fit for our window and roster. A 44% 3 ball? Yes, please. A better question is not Kuz over Morris, but when you factor in the fillers who would be included then you have to ask is Kuz better than Morris, Collison, and possibly a third (Marvin Williams?)? (For the record I don't make a move. Not after losing Kobe. I bet on emotionally motivated Lakers over an outsider. Moving 3 guys f***s with our chemistry too much. Kobe told Stephen A we didn't need any moves, granted he was never a great GM, but I don't think a big move is the right move for this group's psyche. I would entertain sending Daniels out for a 2nd round pick so we can clear space for Collison)
It's actually annoying if it took being put on the trade block for Kuz to start rebounding like this. Hopefully it continues.
its a 1yr deal thats why he got so much so I dont count it as a scenario of "if hes worth that $" if we have to pay kuz that much per yr for 4yrs then you can ask that question bout kuz
good to see him being more focused on other aspect of the gm specifically rebounding and as i noted hes attacking the paint as a straight b line now instead of trying to take his defenders off the dribble (he doesn't have good enough handles)
I like that attitude lol, he needs to sign his second contract with us before entertaining trading him for being a weak a** vegan
Can he do this against a team with big/athletic wings that remains an open question. He had a good game against the Clippers but against Siakam, Harris/Simmons, Gordon, Hayward/Tatum, the Bucks he got roasted. Basically every loss except for Portland has followed the same formula overpower the guards and throw physical defenders at Lebron. Morris is a better shooter and more physical defender so for this year he makes them better for sure IMO. I'd only make the move if they can get a late 1st rounder or a couple of second rounders to make an additional move for a guy like Rose.
I don't think we are trading something like Kuz , Cook , Daniels and Cousins for Morris ( unless they have another scenario in mind to match salaries)
I hope not...Morris is a rental. We would be stupid to trade away the little assets that we have for a rental.
In the last five games between Kawhi and Marcus Morris Kawhi has scored 32,31,31,33,21 https://www.basketball-reference.co...awhi+Leonard&player_id2=leonaka01&idx=players Paul George has scored 25, 24, 22, 37, 32 https://www.basketball-reference.co...arcus+Morris&player_id2=morrima03&idx=players Kawhi scored 35 and 25 against Kuzma https://www.basketball-reference.co...awhi+Leonard&player_id2=leonaka01&idx=players PG scored 26, 29, 37, 27, 17 against Kuzma https://www.basketball-reference.co...t=Kyle+Kuzma&player_id2=kuzmaky01&idx=players I get that this doesn't mean they guarded each other, but still it doesn't seem like Marcus Morris does anything to slow down Kawhi or PG So we'd be trading for him solely on the basis on whether he can continue to shoot 43% from three. Again, wouldn't it be simpler just to let the 40% shooters on our team shoot?
