I don't think Boogie coming back should eliminate McGee or Dwight's minutes. The contributions that McGee and Dwight are giving are exactly what we need. I don't think we need another low block scorer on offense for the sake of having a third option (if he'd even be close to the Boogie of old to begin with). And defensively, in his prime Boogie isn't the defender our current tandem is. There just isn't a role for Boogie on this team right now.

This is to say nothing of the risk of rushing back from a serious injury. He needs to let this thing heal COMPLETELY and then come back next year with whoever and show he's still got it.

The ONLY Laker player with a positive +/- against the C Bags out of the whole team. Props.

It’s going so well this season Dwight, please take it easy and don’t derail the train for a dunk contest. He’s already won the fans back, no need to overdo it.

Waiting now for Kobe to yank the basketball away at the last moment from Dwight in the dunk competition and exclaim "SOFT, STILL M'F'N SOFT LIKE CHARMIN."

In all seriousness though, this would be a nice part of Dwight's Laker redemption story as his relationship with Kobe caused a lot of gold and purple hate. Also it is a nice gateway to get Kobe more involved in NBA events, though I can see him doing more in WNBA with his daughter's progress.

be interesting if he has any interest, but Dwight's in a good place to even ask him.

    Dwight continues to impress.

I get that it's a PR move... but hopefully it was a true olive branch designed to unite the Lakers community.

If he were starting and played 25-30 minutes, he could average 14/10 with 2.5 blocks easy IMO. For what we are paying him, it just goes to show you just how far Dwight's reputation had fallen in the league. I still can't believe how his story has turned out. If we win the championship, Dwight Howard will be one of the most beloved Lakers players of all time.

Played great as a starter tonight. No complaints. Yeah, I am eating so much crow about Howard. I was totally opposed to signing him. But hey, he's come through in a huge way.

Would’ve easily had a 20/10 game had Vogel played him in the 4th. And to think we were giddy with Tyson Chandler last season. Outstanding game.

I seriously think he can still be a... 16/8 player in this league without too much trouble - if he's starting. Maybe even get more rebounds per game than that?

Dwight once again man...this guy has been outstanding for us.

Kudos to Rob and AD/LeBron for giving Dwight a chance but also making him work for that contract - him signing a NON-GUARANTEED DEAL is probably the best contract in the NBA right now.

I hope Vogel stops being cute and plays Dwight with LeBron when AD sits against small ball teams like Houston. He still effective on defense as he's got good feet and he just dominates the glass. On offense, he also opens everything up because all the small guys need to collapse hard to prevent the lobs.

I agree 100%. Dwight is still quick enough to guard the small "5" without too much trouble. And who is going to prevent him from finishing lobs on the offensive end? The only downside is that he would get fouled and forced to shoot FTs, but even that gets people in foul trouble, so it's probably worth it.

Monstrous game last night for sure. This guy keeps bringing it every night.

I noticed in this game what Dwight was shooting free throws from a feet back from the line and his stroke looked great. Could this be the fix for him? He's been really on point from three (tiniest sample size ever of course), and this seems like a pretty smart way to approach the free throws.
