Brandon Ingram Discussion: He Is Who We Thought He Could Be

Not sure about the mental makeup. You have to consider he is still a very young pllayer and is still developing his game. We have seen flashes of this level of play as a Laker too, he just wasn't consistent enough (injuries being a factor here as well). He always seemed to me to have confidence and not shy away from "the moment", which are 2 of the main reasons (next to his work ethic and focus on BB) why I have always liked him.

There is no doubt in my mind he would have balled out in LA as well. That being said, the AD trade was a no-brainer, BI will never ever reach that level. It would be great if some day he found his way back to the Lakers, but not conting on that...

 

Was there any way for us to get AD and keep BI?

i wonder how much the clot issue played into it. NO turned down a bigger offer with him as the centerpiece prior to the clot issue, right? i think folks around the league just didn't think he was that great. a fact that people here--including me (check the receipts)--thought was unfair. to me, was as valuable as tatum. it just was going to take a player of that value, plus a bunch of picks and other lesser prospects to make a deal for a perennial mvp candidate in his prime. as it should.

 

SM had to have been getting armed with high power weaponry for an assault on Lakers HQ when Magic was trying to trade the whole team and wrecking it at the deadline last year. I know I was beyond furious with my rants here at the time.

 

Also for NO to agree on the trade, there has to be something in it for them. Most front offices are too savvy for us to just fleece them. Then on top of that there's the Laker tax.

Both Bron and AD were mistakes and now we're screwed.

 

That still of the motion clip above shows BI looking like he, in addition to his crazy length, has adopted as did Kobe the falling back angle to his Js on at least some of them. Along with great elevation. Going to be a special player!

 

Im very happy for Ingram - he was my favorite laker when he was here.

Glad we were all RIGHT about him. He's a star in the making.

I wonder if he'd be putting htese numbers up if Zion was playing tho - that's the only thing I can think of as a knock against him
