Sitting on my front porch rocker, wondering what Kobe’s ppp looks like with that step back travel move that got legalized and an acceptance of all iso offense.

    the evolving game

In 2000, PF and C = 50% of the starting roster pay on average, and it's now 35%

Sorry, first thing that came to mind. Probably not with what we have, unless the Pistons start becoming sellers with Griffin having knee surgery, and with rumors of Drummond being shopped they might be.

It's funny that $1k can be so dumped on as inadequate, but dang, but a HUGE difference!

The 100k was cumulative after many fans not making it, but talk about a grand canyon between organizations. Wow!

Though Harden's FTR has decreased, it's .509. Kobe never had a season that high, and in his highest USG% seasons, his FTR was under .380. Give Kobe another 4 FTA per game, and he'd score another 3.3 per 100 possessions on that alone. That would push his career mark over 39 and his best season would have been 38.3 PPG - not pp 100 possessions. And that's just changing his FTR to match, with no other special considerations.

$1,000..in scratchers. That could literally add up to zero actual dollars if you’re unlucky enough. For me that would probably be the outcome.

but for randomly being selected to shoot a half time half court shot, it's not so bad

Expected payoff has to be below $1k, right? But it's gotta be something. I imagine the fun of it would be scratching them off.

It just makes no sense to me from the Knicks standpoint. Why not just give the dude $1,000? That costs the same as 1k scratchers and it’s actual money. Instead they likely gave him 500 useless pieces of paper if I’m being generous, and maybe he makes it to $1,000 in winnings on the rest. Maybe. Part of this probably comes from my thinking scratchers are a stupid gift though, a waste of money for the buyer and likely useless for the receiver. Give them $5 and it’s likely a better gift. I hate those scratchers for Christmas gifts commercials. Merry Christmas, here’s a 50/50 shot at trash.

Yeah, people complain about lebron running your franchise, but at least he’s a proven winner.

Yeah; how does Harden not get more s*** about this? They've been .500 or better for the past eight seasons, which is consistently good. And they've won as many as 65 games, which is awesome. But they've been mostly low/mid-50s with some seasons in the 40s (41 and 45) in Harden's tenure in Houston. The playoffs are a different story.

    2-4 1st round exit
    2-4 1st round exit
    9-8 WCF loss
    1-4 1st round Exit
    6-5 2nd round exit
    11-6 WCF loss
    6-5 2nd round exit

    That's 37-36 in the playoffs.

yeah, and people also forget that without a megastar running mate, harden's teams were pretty meh. this is fine, as lone all stars struggle more than fans care to recognize, but harden gets all the credit and none of the blame there. he's had three relationships with players he recruited sour, and two of them were largely responsible for his team winning a round in the playoffs instead of being fodder.

chris paul was why they were a contender. i think we're seeing that this year, too.
