Absolutely depends on the return; but given what we need right now & the point you alluded to about his salary, I think he's here for the next 2 years.

That's way too harsh: Clarskon has the basketball IQ of a snail.
Kuzma does what he supposed to do: even if he's missing shots it's within the offense

And Clarkson was booking night club times while the game was going on. Once he got his money, he turned into Devin Ebanks.

Kyle Kuzma has the ability to be an all star. Whether he will be one is unlikely but he has the ability. Glen Rice should be his ceiling. Even a level down would help this team.

Stress rxn and blurred vision aside, if dude wants to be the 3rd star on this team, he needs to step way the f*** up...

Yeah, it's one thing if he's just supposed to come off the bench to try and score enough points not to blow a lead while the starters are resting. But if he's supposed to be a legit third "star" player to step in with the big boys and play in key possessions, he still has a LONG way to go on defense.

So... I saw the Wizards game today. Damn, wish we traded him for IT when we had a chance.

IT looked unremarkable but he still scored 10 points on 67% shooting which is more that can be said for the other guy.

I didn't get to watch, but the box score seemed to indicate very little impact on the game. If he's not being involved on offense, we'll never get the best out of him. Rondo doesn't look for him - seemingly almost on purpose. Interesting substory for this season's journey.

lol, IT still coming up, eh? too bad we didn't have him last night. might have won by 25.

anywhoooo...went back a page and nobody was talking about how kuz basically won us the NO game with timely shots. we just going to talk about him when he's underwhelming?

The problem I have with Kuz is the inconsistency. If he could crack that nut he will be that third guy. I’m not sure if it’s because he’s a young player and is still sorting things out but other guys his age have figured it out. It’s not because a lack of effort or desire... it’s mind bottling for sure.

Again you guys act like I'm trolling when someone else takes a cheap shot when I didn't even mention the guy.

Of course I'm going to retort if it's directed towards me. Kuz was a little lost today so it wasn't the wisest comment to say "In your face about your dumb IT suggestion"... last game would have been better for that... although maybe even someone said it then as well.

As a Lakers fan, of course I hope Kuzma gets out of his funk... gets some of his mojo back and finds his groove. He's playing at a career high efficiency but you wouldn't know it from his body language and timidness. Maybe Frank has everyone on a short leash and has directed them all to defer to AD and LBJ. It's the only explanation why all the shooters seem so hesitant. If so, you can't even complain because he has the team winning... but a Kuzma without aggressiveness on offense isn't worth much, even with the improved effort on defense.

No, it’s always wise to doubt the wisdom of the kuz/IT trade proposal.

I conceded he looked like a very average player... didn't stand out at all. He can still shoot but seemed afraid or unable to challenge our big players inside. If this is his ceiling... yes, there is no point in trading for him. If he finds another gear, maybe there is. Efficiency wise he's at the highest point since his injury. The question is whether this is all that is left of the old IT... if he can't improve from here, then there is no need to trade for him.
However, it's only a quarter through the season so if he goes up another notch you have a cheap Lou Williams knock off. I wouldn't trade Kuzma for this version of IT... but it isn't the terrible idea most of you thought it was. It all depends on whether he has any more to give.

I can't even believe there is an IT discussion.

The guy was an absolute mess defensively even before the hip injury. When healthy it only worked on the Celts because the entire offense ran thru him and then they put a bunch of really good defenders around him. Kuzma is an average defender but at least has prototypical size, with IT your entire defense has to be focused on how to protect him. This is not a good combo with AD/Lebron

I was sooooo happy seeing him play again last night. On a team other than the Lakers.

Hopefully Kuz's ankle tweak isn't too bad. Those things can linger. Didn't have a great game last night but still had a couple of really nice moves like the floater in the lane.
