I don't think there was any doubt about that, since he signed with us this summer.

AD came up huge tonight. Great defense in the second half to really keep us in the game, plus that timely three pointer and that put back on the Lebron miss. Man, it's so good to have this guy. 5 blocks!!!

AD won us this game with his defense and those 2 late baskets. Really great to see him have a finish like that, he kills it on defense all game, but it’s nice to see him get the credit on the side of the court the media and casual fans mainly pay attention to. 3 more threes tonight, this challenge from Vogel is looking like a good one.

respect n appreciate the def he brings every night but dont agree with the 5-6 3s a game mantra, in the playoffs where do you think opposing teams would rather deal with, ad in the paint running a muck or at 3pt line?

Vogel challenged him for a Vogel plan and AD has stepped up. We're just watching. Go AD!!

Bron & AD 3s during the regular season is an effort to save their legs. I’m sure it helps to open the floor up for Bron PnRs for Dwight/McGee...but you know what the priority is.

If Bron & AD are the lynchpins for both our offense and defense, where can you save their legs during the regular season if you can’t turn to and rely exclusively to their current roster depth. Till you can go in your bag and find options that allow AD/Bron’s minutes to hover around 30mpg, 3ball out their corner pocket it is.

I've never seen a player lock up DOPY in the first month of a season. If AD plays 75 games this year, he will be unanimous.

He's an absolute monSTAR on both sides of the ball. I mean, when he was wasting away in New Orleans you knew he was special and a top flight player, but damn... better than advertised.

The injuries have healed up or aren't bothering him nearly as much. He's looked much sharper the past few games.

With a franchise that is known for having great big men, if he stays here for the next 7 -10 years and stays relatively healthy, he'll be in the breath with those Mt. Rushmore bigs we've had.

You want that type of defensive effort on a nightly basis, he’s not going wear himself thin on the low block posting up every time...he’s going to be encouraged to float a little bit on the perimeter and take some 3balls. Yeah, it will open up our offense some, but it’s primarily for making sure he’s fresh to death defensively.

I personally ain’t worried one bit if he’s not as efficient offensively, as long as his defensive numbers keep looking the way they do.

    Per Sports Illustrated:

JH: What does the Lakers brand mean to you? Have you had any moments this season where it hit you like man this is special?

AD: That is crazy that you asked that because I was at the arena yesterday and during the game, during one of the timeouts it happened and I was just looking around and I have always been playing so I never really had a chance to really take it all in. So the timeout was going on and I am looking around the arena and the Staples Center, I am looking at the banners and everything and I told one of my teammates, Quinn Cook, I tapped him during the huddle while coach was talking and I said ‘Man this is crazy, it just hit me that I am a Laker.” He was like for real? I was like yeah it just hit me that I am a Laker. So that happened last night [laughs].

JH: If you guys win the NBA Championship this season—how special would that be to join the ranks of guys like Magic, Kareem, Shaq and Kobe who have won here?

AD: Oh man, It would be super special. The Lakers are an historic franchise with 16 championships and to be in the conversation on that list of legends who won there it will be special for me, my family and the entire organization for all the players on the team that came together to sacrifice to be a part of something special. Obviously, it is a long way from now and we still have work to do and we know what our goal is and we are excited to even be in the conversation for an opportunity to win a championship.

One thing that AD has been so far, and that's a defensive machine in all 18 games. When a player has a "bad" game and still drops 19-12-6 and plays stout D, you roll with it.

Yeah, his offensive game looked weak early on probably due to his foul trouble situation, but man he turned it up in the second half. His defense is ridiculous and as mentioned those 12 boards and 6 assists were big time.

I wanted a glance into how he's doing this year compared to prior years. You see a 40/20 game, and it can skew in your mind what the norm is, etc.

This shows career highs so far in 3P%, FT%, and Blocks. Near career lows in FG%, Rebounds, and Turnovers.
