    It's still Lebron's lowest mpg in his career. Remember Michael Jordan at 35 in his last season in Chicago averaged 39 minutes a game.

    I'd love to see Lebron's minutes reduced later this year but right now he seems to be feeling it and I still don't think we are way overdoing his PT. With the Atlanta game he only had to play 26 minutes. I feel like once Bradley gets healthy, and Kuz wipes off all the rust we should be firing on all cylinders and the second unit with Rondo should provide more help carrying the load.

    Or it could be we faced a soft portion of our schedule, where bad teams are typically bad due to their bad defense.

    Our offense hasn’t looked great against it and when it’s so Bron-centric already, what happens when the schedule starts to pick up? Does Bron’s minutes/usage go up even more when he can’t sit out 4th quarters due to a blowout?

    This is why dead weight and/or redundant roles/skillsets on the roster need to be addressed. You want to maintain Bron during the regular season, you need someone from the bench that can keep his a** there for longer durations of time.

    As of right now, even with games that present outliers where he gets to sit 4th quarters due to blowouts, Bron comes in as 11th overall in mpg. The only “old head” that beats him is 33y/o Lowry by avg 1 more minute per than him.

    If anybody is capable of going the distance, it’s Bron. But is it in our best interest to have him get this much run in his 17th season, where if he’s not in the lineup, our offense becomes a hot mess? Regular season games are fun, but without hardware, it’s another wasted season of Bron. It’s a priority to take care of our stars and keep these dudes’ legs fresh.

    As I said, Rondo has only just come back and last night we got a good taste of what he can bring from the backup PG position. Our D doesn't look great with KCP in there starting instead of Avery Bradley and AD mentioned that in the post game.

    Kuz has already started rounding back into game shape and he's been excellent in the bench scoring role he's built for over the last few games - obviously we could have used more of him this game but he got taken out with that elbow to the eye.

    Hopefully Kuz doesn't miss too much with that eye and Bradley returns soon from the leg injury. With those two in the mix we really should see a boost in defense with the starters/closers and a boost in offense from the bench. That should spell Lebron some more rest. Again he only played 26 minutes the other night and 33 the game before.

    Hey I love a good sub or ribbing within a post, but bring up some hoops proof along with it to support your argument other than your “eye test”.

    What did my eyes tell me when the roster was constructed? Playmaking behind Bron was going to be tough and proper depth to cut minutes from our stars was also going to be a problem outside if Kuz.

    Hoops proof backs that up now...but that can all change if/when Kuz, Rondo and Av receive clean bills of health and AC gains confidence in with more minutes. Although other than Kuz & AC, Av and Rondo have had some durability issues. And that roadie is coming where all that travel takes a toll on your body.

    I have given it a chance and will continue to. But Bron’s usage is a concern that we shouldn’t hope doesn’t become an issue. We should be proactive about it.

    Nearly 20% of the season is a wrap. I love how we gained a meaningful margin of error with our schedule.

    Now I would hope to see that we can exploit it some by being mindful of Bron’s minutes, even if it means we surrender a game that could be won if we turned on the proverbial switch.

    Thing about these stars is that they feel an obligation to the fans on these road trips to show out. I hope Vogs can say, “nope Bron, that will be all...now get your a** back to the bench.”

    Anyways back to Bron...just get this man to the finish line please. Whether that’s through coaching minutes management or *gulp* addressing the roster...just get him to May in one piece and maybe we can see him in June with a 2 piece as he bags us a chip.

    MJ at 35 had like half the miles on his legs compared to LeBron.

    I don't think that is a good comparison especially as the game has become way more athletic since then.

    I agree that moving forward things should hopefully improve but 35 mpg for him is too much IMO.

    He won't rest much as we can't generate offense and score without him on the floor .

    0.91 pts per possession with Bron on the bench . Yikes

    Not to nitpick or anything but at 35 years old MJ had logged 36k minutes compared to Lebron's 46,725 and 7,500 playoff minutes compared to 10,000. So at 35 MJ had played 75% of the total minutes of Lebron, not half. That may be less but it's not so much that the comparison doesn't stand. So MJ at 35 played 39 minutes a game vs. Lebron now at 35 mpg with 75% of the mileage on his legs. Sounds about right.

    I don't disagree that Lebron ideally should play less if possible, but he is playing the lowest amount in his career and I think the coach is actually watching those minutes and trying to keep them down. Vogel is not the same idiot that Pringles is when he let Kobe destroy himself.

    Again this was mostly with Rondo out. Hopefully we'll see some improvement and Rondo can spell him some minutes going forward.

    Lebron would never let himself be worn down like that. He'd take his midseason trip to Miami, or he'd have cameras detailing all of his daily "overcoming" whereas we only heard stories after the fact about Kobe.

    Yep. Vogs and the coaching staff need to figure it out. Just don’t sacrifice the defense. I don’t care if our offensive efficiency is not optimum, just find a way to get Bron closer to 30mins per and prevent him from having to turn on the juice in the 4th if possible. Save that good s*** for the playoffs.

    No one is as bad as Pringles...f***ing hate that guy for undermining Pau and for condensing Kob’s prime! I Despise.that.guy and absolutely hated Jimbo picking him over Phil. Smfh!

    Hope so...I want this level of LeBron in May and June.

    However, if we can continue to win at a good clip, maybe there will be opps for rest on the back end of the schedule.
