I thought you were talking about Kuz’s shooting %, then I remembered LTLaker question.

Am hearing that Pelinka and his team in the Lakers FO plan to make some calls to other teams in the coming days re: Kyle Kuzma. Idea is not to aggressively hunt for a deal in the short term but rather assess his value on the open market.

classic sell-low move. you'd get lowballed hard. his value can't get lower, so just try to ride it out. he didn't forget how to play basketball; he got hurt and couldn't play while we changed the entire roster and offensive philosophy.

people forget that two months ago he was playing well for the national team.

What you said makes sense. Laker perspective is a combination of 1) concern his value will continue to fall over the course of the season & 2) potential mid-season need for a ball-handling guard.

The other concern is: we need another wing if we make that move.

So, this better be in conjunction with more than just adding another ball handling guard and adding another wing to replace Kuz.

be curious to see which ball-handling guard they think would be available. there really weren't many on the market this summer, and they're kind of at a premium since the league outlawed post play.

The front office apparently enjoys watching players blow up in other locations.

The only way I consider moving him is if Iggy is in the bag and you can a starting caliber ball handling guard who's not damaged goods or a rental. I don't think we should move him, especially cause he's under performing. You'll get $.50 on the dollar for him and to convince me to move him, you have to get full value and then some.

Only PG who may be attainable is Dragic. If Conley's time in Utah went sideways, I'd take him. But if we're talking starting level PGs, we're talking big contracts and Kuz is on his rookie deal, making fair value even more impossible.

Lack of picks, low value, cheap contract, limited high contracts to pair him with, f***ing KCP'S veto power, roster hole he creates, and the likely high salary of a target... moving him is impossible.

Should trade him to Washington for IT.
IT's per 36 is 21 PPG 10 APG so far and they won't have use for him when Wall comes back.
It sounds crazy at first glance but I think it would be mutually beneficial and he'd provide scoring spark for the second unit as well as playmaking.
Just need to get LBJ on board.

Hes coming off injury and they are already talking about testing the market? They have basically turned him into a jump shooter. What do they expect?

I mean: outside of BI, who has blown up?

And I don't think he has necessarily blown up yet.

I'm not attached to Kuz, and while I like him, I'm not opposed to moving anybody on this roster other than AD & Davis.

Besides, they just want to assess his value, and he's our best asset we have right now, FWIW.
