He’s right about the fact that they clearly don’t like overturning themselves. The other thing is that we still can’t make totally different calls (like reversing the foul and such). but doc is lame—had they gone his way he’d say nothing, of course. His principles and misgivings haven’t prevented him from participating.
Funny though. Silver knows better what's up with Kawhi Pop started this s*** show, now Clipps got the idea and are running with it. I remember when we all sided with Kawhi, on his "comeback timetable" Spurs dispute. Guy is a snake and was taking his sweet a** time to "recover".
When players are capable of making up to 40 mil a year on max contracts, a full schedule pays them almost $500k per game. if they load manage to 50% of the games, they could make 1 mil per game played. the numbers are pretty absurd if you break down the minutes on that
That's not the point. It's funny how NBA tries to "explain" it to pissed off fans . As for Balmer's money. He said he doesn't care about the cap space or tax penalty. He'll max Montrezl and sign anyone he can not giving 2 s***s about the $. He'll make GSW owner look cheap.
They should take the percentage of the sitting players salary, and force teams to discount or prorate the amount off the following year's season ticket price. So if Kawhi is 20% of the team's salary cap and he misses 20% of the games due to load management... then that amount should be subtracted off the season ticket.
Nobody buying Clippers season tickets anyway.Their nosebleeds cost less than glass of Coca-cola and hot dog on resell market
Example tickets for Oklahoma and PG13 is expecting to play Section 332 Row 8 Seller notes . Ready to ship by 11/17/2019 Price $5 each Total (USD)$20.00 Same tickets for tonight game Lakers Miami will cost around 120-130 $
The amount Ballmer makes from selling Clippers tickets is probably proportional to what Jeanie makes from one pretzel vendor. It's inconsequential to him. That's why I said he should rebate the money to the season ticket holders. Or warn them in advance Kawhi's only playing 30 home games and then people can choose accordingly.
For the record I don’t have an issue with what Kawhi is doing (though it would be better if he played the big matchup with Giannis for TV and THEN sat out the 2nd night of the b2b with Portland), but don’t lie about it. I get that he has a hip issue, and probably an ongoing knee issue a little bit as we saw him limping to end the Finals last year. I also get that he usually plays 60-some games a season and has never played more than 74, so he is very much used to that type of schedule, and I believe it’s been said he doesn’t want to be limping around when he retires, he wants to be able to live a normal life with his family. It’s smart in the end, the Clippers can afford to lose some games now because eventually George will be back and they’ll roll, as they’re still in the games Kawhi has sat, they aren’t getting beat down. It’s smart to have him left with some reserves in the tank in May/June if you have the luxury, we should honestly do the same with LeBron vs some of the lesser teams in the league. It still sucks for fans though, so I also get why people don’t like it, this is the job they chose and they get crazy money to play a game so they should show up when they can, but whatever, this is how it is now I guess. Maybe it doesn’t bother me as much because I respect Kawhi’s game, and I have zero respect for guys that play 82 like Harden who have spit on the game and who put up what are IMO crazy inflated stats that shouldn’t be held to the same standard of the greats of the past, or even many of the current generation.
