We saw two completely different Kuz's out there. In the first half, he was our second worst player (f*** you KCP). bad shots, terrible passes, and decisions with the basketball. 4th quarter, he was dominant. That Kuzma can buy AD and Bron time on the bench. That Kuz is a 3rd option and can carry the team when they need him to. Shots, cuts, D, rebounds... if that guy shows up regularly then it's over.

If Kuz could average this, we’d be golden. And I know he can. What hapenned to him in the 4th, so suddenly?

He hit his first set 3. Up until that shot, he had only hit that buzzer beating runner. Think that took the lid off the can.

He's been terrible shooting the ball and that is what we needed from him the most. LethalShooter might very well damn be a fraud. I get rust but shooting is the most muscle memory function of the game offensively so he should have no problem with it at this point. Most of his shots look way off.

All of his misses have been short. He's not getting his legs into his shot. Same when he drives, he's not leaping like we know he can.

Kuz just needs to work into game shape and he'll be hitting his shots just fine.

That's not correct. Legs are the most important part of the in-game shots. All of his misses are short, which is a well-known indicator that he isn't in a game shape.

i get the leg thing but kuz has shown he isnt a legit good 3pt shooter thus his decline in % from there last season, i dont mind the occasional open 3 attempts but really shouldn't be taking 6-7 attempts tho, stick to the off ball movts n taking guys off the dribble due to being a 3pt threat

i think a lot fans exclude the mental side to working back from an injury. We know Kuz worked on his shot all summer and changed his release. He shot very well in his time with Team USA. When coming back from an injury after months off, first you want to see one drop in a game. Then the next step is hitting 2 in a row, and then all bets are off. Kuz is and has been a streaky guy, so once he hits a couple he can get rolling. I don't expect him to shoot 6-7 threes per game if he's only hitting 1, but I 100% understand why he keeps shooting now. Virtually all of his misses have been front rim and that is a very encouraging sign. It tells me his mechanics are on point and consistent, so I expect a lot of those shots to drop once he gets his legs.

If Kuz could now hit a friggin 3....wth happened to his shot?

I don't get it...his shot looks smooth and consistent...yet it almost never goes in from 3 anymore.

see above. i expect him to hit 35%ish once he's back. he looks super rusty out there, not just shooting--handling the ball, exploding to the hoop. doesn't look like himself, despite the strong finish last night.

Kuz did change his jumper this year, so keep that in mind. Getting his game legs back is also a big thing too.

He'll get there, but he's still a smooth criminal though. He's going to be the key to our bench.

Agreed and what's a bummer though is that by the time he starts to hit his 3's at a better clip, get his sea legs back because he has started so bad from there his 3PT% for the year likely won't be a great reflection of how he will actually have shot. Players use the pre-season to get those sea legs, kinks out of the way. Kuz has had none of that.

FYI to the fans that are going to be hyper sensitive to his percentages in judging how well he shot the ball this year from 3.

He has only shoot 16 threes all year. He averaged 6 a game last year. There are still 75 games this year at 6 attempts per game equals 450 attempts. Or 466 if you count the 3 game total of 16 he’s shot already. I don’t think that that 16 attempts is going to skew his average for the year.

You're right, looking at it that way. It is still a small sample size.

he would still have to shoot it at 50% clip for the next 6 games if he conts to shoot on avg. 6 3's a gm to get to the % you guys are expecting (36-37%) then he can maintain that % the rest of the way on same amt of attempts, I dont see it.

I think it will depend on if he really did improve his shot over the summer. I can easily see him get hot for 6 games in the season (not in a row or the next 6 games) and hit 50% or higher. League average last year was 35.5%. I don’t think asking
him to shoot league average is setting a high bar. Especially if you take 6 attempts per game. If he can’t make that average, for me at least, he needs to dial back his attempts.
