    Unbelievable

Staff edit- please don’t use cursing in pictures as a swear filter workaround. Also, disagree with the post, argue the point, but don’t call people’s opinions “bull***”.

Because that worked soooooo well when we signed George, after waiting for him. Solid move by us because we KNEW he would sign here.

I was really impressed with LBJ's Dallas game, and it made me feel good about this season, but my comments about his eventual decline aren't radical.
It might come later this year... or maybe in three years... but at some point due to age, Ingram's production will exceed LBJ's. If it happens in three years, then I will admit I'm wrong and say that I overreacted. If it happens by next year, then what I said wasn't unreasonable.
Again, I'm not projecting that BI will come close to LBJ as a player... I'm only saying that 23 year old Ingram might be more effective than 36 year old LBJ.
Doesn't mean he'll ever be a top 100 or even 500 player... just means that at that age he might have more use.

And then we add another player, constant rebuilding was a HALLMARK of every winning team we EVER had!!

We'll never know the truth about what happened with PG until the 30 for 30 comes out in fifteen years.
Personally, I think we dropped him like a hot potato when LBJ showed interest. Had we given him respect, I think he would have come.

You have anti-Laker opinions and strike me as a new person who has come here with an agenda. Sorry, but that is what I think.

True we constantly rebuilt, but we never gave up so many assets. Pau, Wilt, Shaq, Kareem... all required less than AD.
We used to win trades not lose them.

I've been a fan since I was a child going to the Forum sitting in our family's season tickets near Chick in the Colonnade seats... but sure, go ahead and make new posters feel welcome simply because they don't agree with you.

I'm happy for BI, he's doing exactly what we KNEW he was capable off but I am still doing the trade because our coaching (even with Vogel now) wouldn't have put him in a position he's in now. I am just disappointed we still have fan ban here who will find anything to discredit BI gm now because Pellies aren't winning but when I used that logic against AD its "oh they didn't give him the right supporting cast" give me abreak

if you can't see the difference, i can't help you.

btw, NO was good when AD played. just not a contender. NO is terrible this year.

The equation wasn't AD > BI
No one disputes this at this point... especially as a two way player
The question is whether AD for one season > BI plus five assets plus all the player cap space we cleared for AD and the third elite.
So if you are presenting the question fairly, it's more like BI/Zo/Hart plus 3 draft picks, plus a future shot at signing LaMelo, to sign AD for season when he still won't verbally commit to us beyond this season.

it's not, though. the cap clearing for leonard is a separate issue (i didn't want to do it, personally, but they were already committed).

BI/Zo/Hart/3 picks that should be low is a low price for AD. do you know what 26 year old all nba players go for? we paid less than lac paid for paul george. AD trade was a huge win.

you know what's not a huge win? committing max money to non-max players like ingram and ball while constantly playing the lotto to replace them with more ingrams and balls and talk about how we'll win in three years. that's a huge loss. the sacramento model.

The PG trade was necessary to land Kawhi.
If we had landed AD and Kawhi, I'd have no quarrel with losing ten to twelve assets.
So the Clippers would have overpaid if it didn't include both stars.
I'm moving forward and enjoying the team such as it is, but I don't think it should be controversial for me to say we paid too much.
Especially when it's a possibility that AD could leave if something goes wrong this season.
Remember, the reason we are winning is largely because we made some fluke signings like Dwight and possibly Boogie will help us later on.
I give the front office credit for recovering nicely from the Kawhi curveball, but this was far from a optimal plan imo.

I can’t believe this discussion is even going on. Only Lakers fans could be looking at the grass being greener and us being maybe better than mediocre in a few years if all the kids panned out over actually competing for title #17 right here and NOW, with the likelihood of locking up AD for 4 or 5 more years after this one (I forget the max we can offer). We didn’t overpay for AD, we were only able to get him for what we did because AD and Klutch demanded a trade and then killed the market by saying publicly he wouldn’t re-sign in Boston or NY, only LA. Otherwise Ball, Ingram, Hart and picks does not land you Anthony freaking Davis, ever. I’m super happy for BI, and I hope he continues to play injury free, but it was only so many months ago he was “damaged goods” and we didn’t know how his career was going to go with his blood clots. It’s only because he seems to be ok and because he was included that a deal got done at all, because he showed some actual potential, that we were able to get a superstar franchise player not even in his prime yet for Ingram, a couple nice players, and picks. We are not in a position to lament giving up BI over Kuz, we are lucky that NO didn’t demand BOTH in the deal and it still got done.

AD made the playoffs twice in six yrs there, some of the loses is on him but of course ALL the losing wasn't placed on him, so why do yo apply that logic to Ingram when he isn't even considered an equal to AD? BTW you wanted Holiday as well, and he's been quite medicore this yr, why dont you put any of his stats up and say its not leading to wins?

    Didn’t pay too much, period.

I’m still shocked we got him at all.

this team would not be in a position to contend without AD. simple as that. lonzo and BI+lebron would not have been enough to get through the west

AD only had a few winning seasons in NO because they never surrounded him with any talent aside from 1.5 seasons of boogie. maybe when zion gets back (if he plays to his potential) NO can play close to winning bball given how great BI has played but BI is not going to carry that team on his own. even with a stud like holliday they only have 1 win so far this season. its a wonder AD even had two winning seasons in NO carrying that team on his back and it shows how good he is
