The comparison is a little hard when you look at the numbers, but if Kuz has a Siakam like explosion, I'd be very confident in us winning it all. His emergence last year allowed Toronto to still be effective while resting their star Kawhi. We don't have the same quality role players they did but we do have a second star.
That didn't suck ..... hearing AD seemingly sincerely say that about Kuz that he gets inspired himself watching how hard he works and dedicated he is.
Super rusty tonight. I expect him to find his way though and those shots coming up short to start falling. He did still chip in 9 points and have a nice take on Porzingis that got him fts, and hit a nice floater when we were making a run.
Yeah, he'll fit in well. I like the way he got 2 buckets (moving off the ball)...he's a fantastic finisher. Once he gets going, that will help a great deal...
The only real way to shake off rust is to play the game the same as you always do. So I don’t have an issue with it, that’s his game, he’s got to fight through it.
Don’t have a problem with how he played in his return at all. Had a few nice cuts that lead to easy buckets. His jumper looked nice, just short. That will work itself out in time. Part of me is just excited because I don’t think he even really needs to be our “third star”. If he can just be a quality role player he helps us out significantly... and with that said, I think he has it in him to become a star that really takes us to another level.
His knack for finding buckets will be huge—our offense has been pretty rough, a fact hidden by the star power thus far.
I thought he played well in the limited minutes and the shots he missed are shots that he will make once he shakes off the rust. Like others have said - I love his activity on offense - always in motion and he makes cuts that can open things up for us. Let's not forget this dude dropped 41 points in 3 quarters in a game last year - once he gets going, he'll be capable of this and he is going to help this team a ton on offense (and we've had too many breakdowns on this end). I just hope his defense is good this year - that's where I wanna see the most improvement (along with his 3pt shot)
He'll be fine. Agree though he shouldn't overdo the threes right now. Get the easy buckets from cuts and open looks.
Clearly rusty, that's expected. Just glad to have him back out there. Slowly integrating himself into the rotation. His cutting ability will help open the floor up (had a couple nice ones last night) , having the ability to have 2 of the 3 out there will be huge for when our offense sputters in the first half (before Bron flips the switch). Plus when he's back to 100%, we can really monitor Bron's minutes and let his younger teammates carry things as much as possible.
