Didn't think I could ever root for Dwight again after the 2013 fiasco, but I can't help but love the guy. Keep it up, big fella!

It's easy to just look at the box score and walk away unimpressed, but he had another good game last night. He definitely impacts the game and I just hope this is going to continue. Forget about the numbers, do the right thing.

Another good night of hustling. Amusing he brought the Deke finger wag with him to LA. Just be careful not to aim it at the other team, those are Ts we don't need.

Not comparing talent, because Rodman was the greatest rebounder ever and one of the best defensive players to ever lace them up, BUT his energy and crowd involvement is rebounding me a little of The Worm. I can dig that.

Good call JSM. At home this has been an unexpected boon. The second unit comes in and immediately the opposition has to deal with Dwight's energy on the defensive end and the crowd gets hyped. I think when we have Kuz in there for scoring as well the second unit can be extremely dynamic. Howard ignites the D, Kuz brings some instant offense and I think we will have a great bench effort most nights. Right now they are a little anemic offensively. But I love how Dwight has been impacting things so quickly on D.

Anyone else nervous that the Staples center crowds are going to send Dwight into some regressed, immature mindset?

I don't think so. He's on a very short leash with that contract and given his past behavior. He knows he needs to prove himself again. If we get a ring he is redeemed in a big way. But that's a long way to go from here.

He may be on the verge of starting if he keeps this up. He’s definitely stronger and a better rebounder than JaVale is. JaVale was getting pushed around my Valenciunas.

Cool. Really digging the "I'm above it all despite posting on a message board in the middle of the day" persona you've got going.

...as long as Howard doesn't show up at a presser donning a wedding dress then we don't have much of a concern. :)

He doesn't seem to be concerned about personal goals (championship aspirations aside) but more of blending in. The stops in Atlanta, Washington and Charlotte were not exactly conducive to fostering a winning attitude.

Yup. Those were all rebuilding bum teams led by terrible front offices and coaches. I can't blame Dwight for not giving a damn there. Toxic mentality for any veteran.

I liked your post but there's still "Dwight" as a common denominator.

For sure. I just don't think he was motivated enough in those rebuilding teams. We can blame Dwight for that but oftentimes, he was their "veteran" and that just isn't something he was qualified to be. I think we can all see a drastic difference in Dwight's attitude and persona since coming to the Lakers and that is due to the fact that guys like Javale, LeBron, and Rondo are people I believe Dwight look up to in terms of leadership and holding him accountable. I used to hate Dwight but these four games he has played this season is proof most players can turn it around if they put the effort into it.

I've always liked Dwight.

Yeah it's exciting to me to see him truly having fun out there and be an incredibly important part of the best team in his career. The cheers in Staples .... Dwight is pumped.
