hmph...guess we're going to have to sit out this FA/trade bonanza, wherein top-tier guys are changing teams for expirings and super late first rounders. wait...i'm hearing that teams aren't led by complete d******es who haven't seen that having money this summer is a disastrous proposition...so expiring contracts have no value? anyway, call me when whiteside and a 1st are traded for a superstar.
Depending on what China does, the cap will be impacted. A shrinking cap ceiling leads to more teams in the tax. So getting off money may be something small markets will look to do. I mean at first it was Dragic, then it became Whiteside...but both were essentially moved for Butler. He's no superstar, but as a 3rd star on this team, he woulda been nice.
It'd be nice to get him back for that SA game. Give us a boost against Pop's undefeated squad. That's our toughest 2 game stretch this month.
Yeah get him back for the road trip - would be a nice boost for us plus we can use him against the wings that SA has (Gay, DDR)
'day-to-day' one of the worst things you can say to a Laker fan when it comes to injuries i remember when they day-to-day'd Nash for like 4 months i hate day-to-day
Woulda preferred him to come back after the roadie, cause erring on the side of caution when it comes to a stress rxn isn’t necessarily a bad thing. But looks like dude is on the cusp of being back.
well, both and then their best young player who was on a team-friendly contract. i would have taken jimmy for free, but every team that's traded for him has been burned.
You vs Ingram Kyle .... will be interesting and inevitable to link and compare your games going forward. I'd have to had fallen last year in the Ingram camp hoping he stayed over Kyle. But I've always be huge on Kyle because of the technical skills he had so early in college when I saw his first clip and since then factoring in his mentality and drive. If Ingram winds up at 1 then hopefully Kuz is at 1A in their futures.
I was more excited for Kuzma developing as a player than anything else this season. If he can be what we all expect him to be, I would have no problem with the Lakers maxing this guy out. 20-24 points, 38% shooting, and above-average defense is all I am looking for with Kuzma. He needs to be more Klay-like.
thats all he needs to do? why stop there, how bout 2nd team all D, and 2nd team ALL-nba while we at it?
I don’t see Kuz getting anywhere near 20 ppg on a team with LeBron and AD. I would be happy with 12-15 ppg, 35-37% from 3 and 5 rpg. Obviously the big difference we are all hoping for is improved defense. Also, 80% + on FT would be nice too.
IDK, that second unit can use the offense at times. I think he will be around 16-20pts a game. Lakers need another playmaker. He's gonna fit right in.
20-24 is too much, he wont get enough shots 15-18 ppg on 36%+ from 3 (38%+ would be great), continue to improve attacking the rim, avg overall d, and some shot creation for himself and others is realistic fair, and needed
So glad to hear Kuz is coming back on Friday. As we've seen our bench could really use him as a versatile scoring option. I think 15-20 points a game is about right for him. I don't see him averaging more than that on our team this year. But that would be a huge lift for us. His energy is sorely missed.
Less minutes for Caldwell Pope and another player that is an offensive threat. Someone who can take the lid off the defense in the paint against Davis. Kuzma's constant movement is a fit with James when he finds the open spots in the perimeter or out on the break.
