I can't believe you making me do this haha.

I'm addressing the 13 man roster overhaul from last year. That's just not true. We got 9 new guys here. They got 8 new guys this summer. If you count Zu, JaMychael and Shamet as midseason trades last year, even those dudes aren't really considered core pieces. Hey but lets just ignore that cause I guess we can't count Caruso as a 2way player as a core piece last year either. So 9 new guys for us vs 8 for them.

For the opener we were out key rotational players and so where they.

@LTLakerFan haha you hung up on my hindsight, but why don't you pay attention to foresight. Is it wise to trot out a big body to big minutes that had 2 significant leg injuries over the course of 18 months? There is a reason Boog didn't have a market this summer. You ease that guy back into the rotation from rehab. Now consider his primary insurance is McGee and you want to look over his career mpg. f*** being capable, has dude shown he can play 30mpg? We were ready to trot those 2 out into the season knowing AD wanted no part of that position. Now consider the possibility Boog falls during the season and our options (like Dwight) aren't as robust. Put the cystal ball away and take out a medical file.

Lastly, please don't put me in a situation to defend the cLips, but my gawd accept that the punched us in the face. Both squads had excuses, but that doesn't change that we played poorly and if we're serious about earning a title vs title contending teams, we gotta do better. Let's hope it starts tonight.

I know what you meant, but it was a tongue in cheek comment. I mean, we had no consistency with just Bron and MCG there and we also have new coaching staff while they do not. We can beat them, this game was no biggie. Realistically, most people probably expected them to win it.

...had like 6 plus rejects. Did all that on one ear. Falls down a lot too.

Edit: 5 rejects and kept the ball in play instead of sending it over the Santa Monica Pier.

Business was indeed taken care of, emphatically in my opinion.

mom an AD note, needs his jumper to be more consistent, great D though.

21 and 7 game is something this guy can do in his sleep, so not off to the monster start I guess I was half expecting.

This was Gobert though. I thought Utah didn't look like themselves either, as they are integrating a major piece for them in Conley. Early season is just going to be like this.

He's getting there. Just needs to abuse people in the paint instead of settling for random jumpers. But he will be fine.

I believe some pain in his thumb is still lingering and that’s what is effecting his jumper.

Plus a contused earlobe can really throw off your balance as well haha.

My only concern for AD this year is health. He’s our next franchise player...I have no doubt about that.

Gotta get that fallaway jumper to drop or just stop taking them. Glad we went with him at the 5, even against Gobert, offense runs smoother with him there.

His defense was superb. Game changer as advertised. The shot will come. We've seen him hit outside plenty.

Davis has the mobility to switch onto guards and wings... Did so against Leonard and Mitchell. Oh and Davis is not a liability at the charity stripe. Great Euro step on that open floor make for an and one off a James pass.

Him playing at the 5 will depend on the matchups. I don't think Davis will spend a ton of minutes against big bodies like Jokic, Embiid and Whiteside to name a few. Closing small ball units is another story.

Jezz, I used to fear Gobert but AD made him look like an ordinary scrub without working a sweat. I remember about 3 blocks on Gobert and 2 on Mitchell, like AD was star hunting at the rim lol

The only thing I have to criticize being a couch coach is that he doesnt bully down low. I guess I'm spoiled with shaq but he seems content to mid range and long range

he has a certain Dirkesque falling over newborn deer feel when taking contact that feels uncomfortable. Might not ever be another like Shaq.

We are so spoiled with the likes of Shaq, Kobe, Kareem, Magic, etc. Really hard to impress Laker fans.

He's gotten off to really good starts in the first quarter. Really helps get the team going. When Vogel and rotations settle in, I want to see him stretch that dominance across all 4 quarters. He's more than capable. As the thumb heals, that'll be easier too.

His D was great against a team that's been a tough, rugged team for decades. Blocks, rotations, activity.... love it.

Davis doesn't have the frame to abuse people on the low block but has savvy moves. On face ups and on the open floor, he is very fluid. Reminds me of Grant Hill in a bigger body. Here's to hoping Davis stays healthy throughout his stay with us.

Nearly all his misses last night weren't clunkers but were rim-outs. Plays string music at the foul line...

I love what i'm seeing from AD defensively - he's our anchor for sure.

Offensively - he's gotta take his defender off the dribble more instead of settling fro jumpers - but I do want him to start nailing jumpers

Also there was a sequence where he gave the ball to LeBron in the post and lebron went to work and scored - I was thinking - when wsa the last time AD was able to just give the ball to someone else and they went to work like that and got a bucket? I want to say Cousins in New Orleans - and we saw how that worked out (2nd round in the playoffs).
