Caruso will start today and get triple -double . The Lakers are resting LeBron, AD, Dwight, JaVale, Danny Green, Avery Bradley, Rondo and Quinn Cook
The season hangs by a (pubic) hair...or is it bald down there too? Anyways, sorry for being a d***...hope he’s alright. Cause if not, our playmaker depth just took a haymaker....and hair or lack thereof, is flying everywhere.
Didn’t you say Caruso was overrated anyway though? It’s not really a big loss when he’s clearly like 6th on the guard depth chart with Vogel and it takes all of Bradley, Rondo, and Cook being out for him to get any significant time. He’s clearly behind Daniels and KCP too with the staff.
I was being tongue in cheek... But I’m talking about someone that can break their defender down and setup shop for either themselves or another. Only guard that can consistently do that is Rondo. IMO Bradley can’t do it at high enough clip and Cook is more of a spot up type or a guy that can bring it up for an early swing pass. The only ankle breakers shot creators on our team are Bron, AD, ‘Do and Caruso. Don’t tell that to KCBean tho...dude had to be shouting Kobe with each iso attempted J he took tonight. Point is Bron will be the one running point without many options on the squad already. If the goal is to minimize his usage during the regular season (and it should be), losing Caruso for any significant time is a hit.
We missed him out there last night. It hurt to have both him and Rondo, our two legitimate backup playmakers out. I like Cook but he's a score first guard and we needed someone to distribute and create easier shots for others. Hopefully we won't see this again, with both of Rondo and Caruso out for any serious stretches. We need at least one of them.
against the clips we probably miss rondo more. caruso's the kind of guy that beverly flusters. rondo would shake him off, maybe deck him a couple times.
They're also very turnover prone, so I don't necessarily think they would have made a huge difference against the Clippers.
Sure because we just didn't need a backup playmaker at all right? I beg to differ. We needed that pretty badly. It could have made a huge difference.
i don't know if caruso is that guy. he's a fun third pg/sg type, but he hasn't really proven that he can handle day-to-day duties as a playmaking guard.
Howso? I think most people believe he can be a great back up. I think its a fair take on his skillset
i don't think there's enough data. most of his good moment have been in garbage time or when games don't matter or maybe even due to people not seeing him coming. i imagine injuries will lead to him getting some regular burn in games that matter against good competition this year, and then we'll have a better idea. i don't think it's an accident that gs tried to poach him, though--he has shown some ability.
The offense improved significantly with the Eagle running the point in the second half. Still needs to find his shot from last year, but I'm hoping he gets more minutes the next few games.
