I’m gonna be that guy, that’s a terrible shot. There’s 7, maybe 8 seconds on the shot clock when he gets the ball, it’s not desperation heave time. Ugh, the Steph Curry effect, amazing player, but this is what he’s created, from the NBA to the local park.
ironically, shooting has been a downside early for Trae. If he was really a curry level shooter, he’d be a superstar right now.
I think he’ll be one of the best offensive players in the game for the next ten years. I really buy his shooting over the long run. But yeah. Couldn’t shoot the three last year. Wasn’t good on 2s either.
The Louisiana Lakers are very fun to watch, even minus Zion. These kids Ingram, Hart, and Ball are pretty good.
they have a bit of an issue in that frank jackson looks to be better than ball. i think gentry knows it, but how do you handle that in a small market when you traded the franchise for ball and ingram? ingram was hitting open catch and shoot threes. had he done that in la, basically ever, we'd have won more. and they're 0-2.
I blame magic for that Ball miss pick and Rob for going along with magic's delusion. Fox was a much safer pick
Rockets - NOLA is a fun match right now. I don't like D'Antoni, don't like Harden, but I like Westbrook speeding up the Rockets offense right now. It's entertaining. Ingram's offense is looking good. All of the NOLAkers here have defined roles, something that the our team/Luke didn't offer to them.
Go Suns !! They are up 10 points in 4 quarter . Kawhi is playing like s***.And Phoenix doesn't even have Rubio. And Beverley is already out with 6 fouls.
what's up with phx? killed sac, lost to denver by 1, spanked the clips. i thought they'd be terrible this year. is monty (not lue) the coach who got away?
I'm not sure where to put this, but here goes. These are LA picks sorted by draft position, stats listed for first season (or partial season) away from LA Russ's year four: 21.1-7.0-3.2-43% BI's (so far): 27.3-4.3-9.3-53% Ball's (so far): 13.7-6.7-5.0-39% Randle's year five: 21.4-3.1-8.7-52% Wagner's (so far): 10.7-0.3-4.3-63% Nance's year two: 8.9-1.0-7.0-55% Zubac's year three: 9.4-1.5-7.7-54% Lakers have been on point with scouting - and terrible at getting the most from their players. I'd include Hart in there, too, and possibly Kuzma, but that was a pick they got via trade. Ball Russ/Hart Ingram Nance/Randle Zubac/Wagner That's a pretty decent squad, I mean, as soon as they get away from LA's training staff and player development system.
Here's a fun little trivial, mostly coincidental stat: ex Lakers core new teams' records 0-10 Sacramento 0-3 (Luke) Knicks 0-3 (Randle) Pelicans 0-3 (Ball, Ingram, Hart) Warriors 0-1 (Russell) If you add in the other lesser draft picks: Clippers 2-1 (Zu) Wizards 1-2 (Wagner) Cavs 1-1 (Clarkson, Nance)
I KNEW we'd regret that Zu trade. Although this is a very small sample size, I think a solid winning season and being in the mix for the Finals will placate a lot of Laker fans. Giannis is a FA as Lebron's contract is wrapping up, so maybe we retool once again. It just sucks shipping out home grown talent that you've seen grow into young men. I'm still getting acquainted with our new roster, and I'm not feeling them yet.
