Hopefully the forced feeding in the post won't last long and we'll see some Bron and AD PNR

    The force feeding was terrible.

This is where 2 superstars struggle...usually you would think it is clear that LeBron goes to the hoop and finds AD. That wasn't the case and the Clippers had an easy time clogging the paint. LeBron and AD have to figure out how they play and be a little more unpredictable.

Furthermore...we got out-rebounded by the small Clippers team and that is honestly NOT ACCEPTABLE....WTF. When you have AD, Dwight, Bron and McGee it is inexcusable. We got worked by the Clippers, simple and plain.

Not only did we get out hustled, we played down to their size. Given our size advantage, I think that was a mistake.

i think unless he's got a mouse in the house, i like him operating from the elbow extended. his jumper (historically) is respectable there, and he can beat most bigs off the dribble if no help comes. plus, it's less taxing on the body than establishing low block position each trip down.

People keep saying it’s one game, but if we want to unlock AD’s true potential in the postseason, getting him there in one piece will be half the battle.

We want to run the offense thru him.
We want him to be or play at the level of DPoY.
We want him to play big minutes cause Dudz is the only one that can back him up at the 4. #KuzPleaseSaveAD
We - actually that’s not true - ...some of us also want him to play the 5 and body up against their best post player on D. Dwight & McGee inexcusably played a total of 36mins on opening night...so who played the bulk of the remaining 12mins at the 5?

It’s not just one game fam...if it becomes a trend. Plus competition like the cLips, ain’t just one game. It’s those types of teams that we’re going to be facing in the buzzsaw that is the wild wild west come May.

If this is a preview of what we demand of him in the regular season, it’s going to end poorly for us...kinda like how AD looked in the 4th.

the remaining 12 minutes at the 5...against a guy smaller than most pfs? the c position isn't taxing due to its location on the floor; it's due to wrestling with big, strong people.

and my god with the reactions to a single game against a title contending team returning 2/3 of its key rotation players.

hate to see this place tomorrow night...

    That’s fine...

Have a fun regular season where we possibly slaughter lesser talent. Then comes May...and don’t be so surprised if regular season success doesn’t translate. I’m trying to Dodge all the overreactions myself...you know like thinking this off-season was lit.

it was. we got anthony davis. you're talking as if the playoffs are a foregone conclusion and bellyaching (endlessly) about the possibility of not finishing with a ring.

that's like, 95 levels above last year--you know, when YOU said the offseason was such a success.

We had Anthony Davis last year..when he demanded out and removed other contenders from the picture (sorry Boston). Without creating the space for him to walk into, how do you think he threatens LA or bust?

The off-season isn’t a success if you can’t take 2 stars and make it a near lock to get hardware. All the duos in the league have durability problems, so they need healthon their side to get to where they want to go. If you truly believe we did everything right in protecting our stars for a long playoff run, kudos to you for having your cup floweth over. Me, I’m using mines to get back to half full, cause I’m pissed.

Btw, my #SMASHEDdreams has nothing to do with any Laker...other than maybe Jeanie.

So get gone, Kuz...and goddamnit Dwight, she said stay, but I need you to leave. When I said I want 3stars, I didn’t mean this. It’s true what they say about you...dwightmare be infiltrating my dreams.

    I'd love to be wrong.

But I wasn't about Lebron either.

Are you saying you see an alpha dog - give me the damn ball - and take over down the stretch kind of player?

the kind of guy you know who is getting the ball and you still can’t do anything to stop what’s about to happen?

I have yet to see that with AD, across his whole career his record is sub 500, and he hasn’t proven he can be that guy under the bright lights. The fourth quarter he was fed the ball and did nothing.

we can make all of the excuses we want for both him or LeBron, but the bottom line is LeBron has serious holes in his game, and has needed clutch closers beside him in order not to be 1-8 in the finals.

if we don’t have others that will step up, we are in for a long and disappointing season.

sorry, I’ll try to keep my cheery disposition mostly quiet this year, but I basically just saw some scrubs stymie two alleged all-time stars.

We just gave up massive points to a squad that’s supposed to be defense first. I’m very disappointed. It’s been what, 7 years?

Yeah, disagree. I won’t go into the LeBron stuff with you, but AD is a top tier superstar who absolutely can and does dominate games. I’m sorry the Lakers lost to a hot shooting title contender in the their home opener, mostly because it’s made this site intolerable.

I'm still in "Prove it to me" mode.

Be about it, don't talk about it. The first game was crap minus Green. I'm not dishing out excuses.

Amen to that. Haven’t even been posting here because it’s been so bad the last 2 days. It’s one loss. Last year we used to get our a**** kicked by the Clippers regularly, this was a close game. And as for AD, dude carried his team 2 years ago to the playoffs, he was 3rd in MVP voting, watch some highlights of his biggest games if you don’t think he can be a main guy.

yeah, i posted the gameflow in the clippers thread, just to remind people that it wasn't a blowout and could have easily gone the other way with a few bounces and hustle plays.

and yeah, AD's career has been exactly like KG's early career was. unfairly maligned for playing in a small market with poor management.
