Kawhi Leonard Discussion: “I’m A Snake Clipper Guy.”

i still can't really muster george anger, but kawhi can screw himself at this point. and doc has always had that directive from me. overrated in all ways.

WE all want that, but this is a slippery slope. If you yammer about it too much publicly and we don't dominate them and they actually beat us, it's going to be much harder to survive it.

My belief is Kawhi's 1st option was the Clippers all along and in the event they couldn't get a 2nd star, he was going to join the Lakers. There's no shame in us waiting and clearing a max spot for Kawhi but people forget that moments before Kawhi officially agreed to join the Clippers, he told the Lakers to try and delay the Pelicans trade for a few days. In my opinion, what happened was Kawhi contacted Paul George and told him to try and get out of OKC and that the Clippers had a lot of assets. If OKC did not agree, Kawhi would have joined the Lakers. It's why Sam Presti said the trade idea wasn't a mutual agreement but once OKC saw the pieces the Clippers were willing to offer, they had no choice as they knew PG was going to try and get out via a trade eventually. Westbrook caught wind of that and they both had a mutual agreement that it was time for OKC to rebuild and did Westbrook a solid by trading him to his very good friend, Harden's team.

Whatever the case, Clippers are going to be in heaps of trouble. LeBron likely takes Kawhi choosing Clippers over him personal and AD would feast on Zubac and Montrezl. Clippers may have elite backcourt defenders on their team but Paul George is a Paula Georgina once the playoffs hit and Kawhi will need to rest every five days due to his sore knee injury that he will deal with his entire career. If I am the Lakers, the team I would be most worried about are the Sixers. They have the size and defenders to match up very well against us.

 

At this stage of the game, predictions are pretty much a waste of time.

 

yeah, it's been underplayed in the press how much of a slap in the face it was for kawhi to ignore a spot with lebron/AD in favor of forcing a trade for PG. if lebron's still able to be even 80% of lebron, i'm thinking that he's motivated enough to show kawhi the error of his ways.

i still think the biggest condemnation of this stuff was that the entire league thought mitch was fired years too late because he was the only guy who played by the actual rules.

Not that impressed tbh. I used to bench twice my body weight and do a squat and a deadlift with even more than that (all when wheighing around 200-210lbs.).
