I may be new here but english is a universal language. It seems you're trying to come off as someone who is intelligent but thus far, has proven to be the opposite. AD never said he wouldn't play the 5. He's simply stating he is open to playing the 5 if needed but would prefer another center alongside him. If you can't grasp something as simple as that, you are in dire need of opening up a dictionary.

"Huge difference between saying and doing too."
Okay, so why did you post what he was saying and then when someone does the same, you respond with that?

As a new member you thought my current posts were "babbling junk".

I requested you look over my previous material to get a better idea of my position. I don't look forward to rehashing and investing my energy into more babbling junk. So I'm doing you and this board a solid.

I'll keep it moving till I feel it's necessary to address your posts.

So far, imo you haven't given me material to really address anything without sounding redundant. Previous members have brought up what you have and I've addressed it.

I only bring up that you're new cause I've addressed this material already and frankly you're the one engaging me in discussion that's been discussed ad nauseum.

You give me a perspective I haven't seen or read yet and I'll definitely address it. Till then, keep posting strong and I'm sure if you do I'll address you in due time.

@abeer3 do you honestly think we have enough frontline depth to both decrease Bron & AD's usage during the course of the regular season and to minimize AD's exposure at the 5 till the postseason?

Rotations shrink with playoff roster spots going to 12 in May so at that time AD is "comfortable" playing the 5. That's an expectation that I'm sure he has. Meanwhile the expectation we have to give him is that he sees less at the 5 during the regular season. If Memphis doesn't give Dwight a buyout, we would have been forced to turn to Noah who avg 17mpg last season being defensively impactful in those short burst minutes. Would it be wise to assume Noah and McGee (who was also successful as a short burst guy) to handle the majority of minutes at the 5 during the regular season, or would you add another to the platoon, if the primary motive is to honor AD's wishes?

Has Dwight also faced injuries recently? So is it wishful thinking that he remains healthy till May?

More depth at 5 shows AD we respect his wishes. If we then experience injuries, it's really just bad luck. Instead we have dude repeatedly state he will play the 5 if need be. How about trying to eliminate that type of dialogue completely? He wouldn't have to say any of that if we were at least 3 deep at the center position.

Lol. You're not even worth replying to. The only likes you get in your posts are when you post articles and copied quotes from Lakers players. Keep thinking you're an important figure here who people applaud to for a response. But go ahead with your poor drawn up narrative and your nonsensical posts such as you saying Melo helped OKC become 10th in DRTG but then couldn't figure out how to explain how OKC became 4th in DRTG the year after. Sorry to burst your bubble but unlike you, some people DO understand basketball. Good day, sir.

if minimizing exposure means what AD said it does: reducing the amount of time he has to bang bodies with bigger guys, then yes. and if mcgee or howard is out for an extended period, we can add a big body for that time period. but you have to figure we can get somewhere between 30 and 48 minutes of center play from mcgee and howard most nights.

as for lebron, i don't think you can reduce his usage. but his minutes can be kept closer to 32 than 36 thanks in large part to kuzma's presence and ability to play 30+ minutes. there are only 96 minutes at sf/pf. our three best players play those spots and will play the lion's share of those minutes without being overextended.

dudley, daniels, and kcp can all give you minutes at the 3 against backups, too.

again, you can't plan a roster for multiple guys at overlapping positions getting hurt. nobody has that kind of depth. if someone does go down, trades can be made, particularly if you have useful redundant players, as you claim we do.

i think carrying two and not starting AD at center unless there's catastrophic injuries is totally reasonable. if he's not ok with that, i wonder about his mentality, tbh.

not sure how to make that dialogue end when he's logged so many successful minutes at center. somebody's always going to ask...because it makes sense to ask. tim duncan never stopped fielding those questions, nor did he stop playing center.

In all reasonable fairness, it takes more than one year to rebuild a squad. We lucked out by getting Lebron and then again by getting Davis. Then we failed to get Kawhi, so now we have to fall back and punt. We took some risks with Cousins and now Howard, we got some decent role players that may or may not pan out. We will need to make some additional moves, no doubt. But to sit and constantly nit pick on everything that is NOT perfect is really boring. I think we all know that things are not perfect but they have become a great deal better than they have been for the past 6 years. I think some people are locked into two things, 1 entitlement due to all the great years we had under Magic and then Kobe, 2 burned out on our losing mentality the last 7 years since Jerry Buss passed away.

At some point you have to accept the fact that we had reached rock bottom and digging out was NEVER going to be easy. To think and expect for us to be completely dug out by now is pretty silly, IMHO. This is a big step forward, enough of a step forward that many out there consider us to have a solid chance at making the finals. The truth is, we probably still need a year, maybe two to get there. If Lebron is lucky, he will get one ring here, but may be able to help set us up for a run after he retires. Hence his apparent desire to have Davis be our #1 option on offense. He knows he is diminishing returns but can be a solid addition to a Davis run squad in a couple of years. (See Jabbar).

The key for us is to keep getting better, and to attract another marquee player who can help both Davis and an older Lebron. Anyone else who happens to stick with us is great but not really to be expected. My guess is that we will have a couple of players who will stick past the next couple of years, the rest will likely be gone as we make the adjustments we need to make to win a ring.

All the rest of these discussions are simply for guys to try to prove who has the bigger wanker and don't really mean a darned thing.

Well said. I'll add: if having D12 makes Davis feel better knowing we have another legit 5 on the roster, I'll support the move.

I'm just hoping Dwight works out...

I'll also say the major advantage with Davis is playing small while still maintaining size at the given his ability to switch..

For the love of God, opinions on the Lakers off-season&how the team wound up being constructed should officially be over at this point.

We have 1 spot available... let's all move on already.

Let's talk about the current team(AD included)&getting ready for the Warriors less than a month away.
    Game is on October 5th.

right. and further: if AD never plays minutes at center, is he as valuable to a team? this is why i said i question his mentality if it's about not playing there at all. but again, if you take him at his word, it's about not having to drag steven adams up and down the floor for 30 minutes, which is totally understandable and sensible.

This ^^^. Excellent point about would he be as valuable never playing there and exploiting his talents against similar sized or smaller 5s when match ups present.

Potential road to Finals via centers:
    Denver - Jokic/Plumlee
    Portland - Whiteside/Nurkic/Collins/Pau
Dubs - Looney/Wcs/Dray (undersized but plays dirty)
    Htown - Capela/Nene/TyChand
    Utah - Gobert/Davis
cLips - Zu/Trez (undersized but plays bully ball)
    Philly - Embiid/Horford/O'Quinn

AD will kill offensively at the 4 in the playoffs...but seeing how Dwight/McGee's man defense is not very good, he should absolutely be weakside help vs the 5s defensively. He can eat in that capacity instead of using all 6-10 of him in bodying up against those dudes nightly.

It's a marathon folks and there's a max bag at the finish line. We shouldn't expect him to f*** up his money and career projection...and frankly it would be smart of us not to if we want him here long-term.

gs, hou, clips, phil, utah all play large chunks of the game with guys smaller than AD at center. were you trying to make my point?

and it's on vogel to run the plodding bigs in denver and portland off the floor (like other teams have in the postseason). one way...is to use AD at center...unfortunately?

again, if davis doesn't recognize this, maybe he's better off playing pf for a first round out and we just start over.

^^^Yeah, you right...AD is built to play the 5. Ain't no one packing like he is...except for the Rock and Arnold.

AD is a cornball and I'm here for every second of it. Btw, Bron already said you the focal point of the team...now you taking his swag too?
