"Further testing" implies x-rays came back negative for a break. So if it's further imaging, MRI will rule out a bone bruise or tears (ACL, meniscus). Further testing can also imply what's found during physical exam: Lachman/Drawer tests for ACL and McMurray test for a torn meniscus. Hoping for the best, but bringing him back slow is the name of the game in a contract year (and frankly who knows how many potential paydays he really has left). Expect anywhere from 4 weeks (meniscectomy) to 9 months (ACL).
RIP. F*** Me. A torn MCL and he could have returned this year. ACL I don't think so. I feel bad for the guy. Lost a lot of weight had a ton to prove and then this...
If he bumped knees and got a major injury before the season, it would have definitely happened once the season started. Better to know now than later. I got my fingers crossed but this may be a good reason to start McGee over Cousins. Well damn, posted this before I saw the torn ACL report. Cousins is done.
torn ACL. of course its the worst possible scenario. guy just needs to retire at this point this team is cursed
Poor guy. Obviously I'm bummed about what this means for us. But I really feel sorry for Boogie. He's a basketball player. That's all he is. To have that taken from him is pretty upsetting. A lot of talent, just gone...
the luck this franchise has had in regards to injuries this decade has been ridiculous every ******* season
torn MCL's are usually 7-9 month injuries. ACL I believe is like a 12-14 month injury. Obviously there are outliers and folks from an MCL tear have come back faster but given Cousins history I don't see any way he returns this year
BT, those recovery times are a bit off and consecutive at the very best. God willing and if he really doesn't overdue it causing any set backs, he still can come back in time for the playoffs.
