I have to admit, AD is soft.

Playing the 5 these days doesn't mean banging with bruising players.

I think we are best with AD at the 5 because he can shoot and now adding another shooter at the 3/4 like Kuz...it just opens the game up for LeBron.

not sure i'd go with "soft" but i don't get the aversion to playing up a spot in the modern nba. i get why kg didn't want to play center as a young player, for example. every team played a huge person, and you were expected to defend multiple post-ups every game against said larger player.

that's less common now. especially if your minutes at c are mostly against opposing second units.

    it's just curious.

but it doesn't matter: if he doesn't want to, let's not play him there. we need him to be 100% positive about his experience here to avoid a dwight situation.

Totally disagree with the soft label. It's sophmoronic to think otherwise... especially seeing how both Boogie and KD have both fallen as of late due to time spent at the center position. AD will probably fall under the latter in that he will get that bag regardless, but why risk injury that can cost you your pension plan? Boog lost close to $150m and it's a goddamn travesty.

The regular season stands at 82 games and if that's an obvious cash grab for someone...so the player's need to start worrying about how they can extend their time with the company.

It makes your really appreciate just how much of a bad man the Deisel was. Folks make fun of his toe injuries, but dude was as durable as one can be at the center position.

Anybody saying anything else is just blowing smoke...

The number of low-post bruisers at the C position we saw in the past is down significantly. Obviously this isn't the 1990's. These days you have a lot of finesse guys there. LaMarcus Aldridge is another guy who doesn't like playing C but does it often because it gives his team the best lineup. AD thrives when he plays at C and with Boogie out, the best lineups are with him at C. No offense to Javale. I don't particularly understand why he has such an issue with the C spot BUT if that's his preference, gotta keep the guy happy. Start McGee, pluck one of the decent bigs off the market and limit AD's exposure to the 5 to mostly ending games.

They'll have to figure out the rotations, but Javale and AD together on the floor are the minutes AD can play at the 4. That, sadly for AD, is it as Javale is probably good for 26 minutes a game at most. So unless they have a real small lineup, that's at least 22 minutes a game AD has to play at center. Plus what happens if either one gets into foul trouble? Or goes down with an injury?

The Lakers should be in the market for a bruiser who can soak up minutes and fouls.

Lakers should just sign Marreese Speights.

Former Warrior, including the 2015 title team where he was a rotation player - at least in the regular season
    He can hit the three
He's hungry to be in the NBA after spending last season in China
