i actually do feel a little bad for him. he got in his own way and derailed a hof career. he will probably still get in, but i think his legacy would have been entirely different if the guy in this interview existed 7 years ago.

that's what happens when the only thing you care about is having fun

he had all the talent but couldn't care less about winning and had the mentality of a toddler. glad he finally realized he was his own worst enemy but its far too late now. he's all but done

if i was a non-contender looking to break into the playoffs, i'd give him a look at this point. he can still rebound and defend the paint last i saw him. if he agrees to do that and plays for the minimum, some center-less team could benefit for 20-25mpg. can his ego handle that? dallas wanted him once, long ago, and they loved tyson chandler in both his stints there.

if he's a problem, cut him.

yeah he was actually pretty good in his season with the hornets

this latest injury might have taken away whatever he had left though

The first NBA player to "come out of the closet" while they're still playing will be a 6'0" midget backup PG. Not a 6'11" 270lb big man.

I think Jason Collins came out while still playing if I'm not mistaken.

Kinda sorta. Collins became a free agent in the offseason of 2013. He announced he was gay. Nobody signed him or invited him to training camp. Then in February of 2014 the Brooklyn Nets signed him to a 10 day contract out of the blue. The Nets renewed the 10 day contract, then signed him for the rest of the season. Collins then officially retired in the 2014 offseason. It was kinda weird to say the least. Rumors are that Jason Kidd, the Nets head coach and Collins' teammate with the New Jersey Nets from 2001 - 2008 was the one who convinced the organization to sign him. Coincidentally (or not), Kidd left the Nets at the end of the 2014 season, moving to Milwaukee to coach the Bucks the next season.

    I agree...

But Dwight has several times said that he will do whatever it takes without complaining and has then reverted back to being Dwightmare. The potential of the locker room blowing up with him is significant enough to give you a pause.

The Clippers should honestly sign him. They'll need the bodies to defend Cousins and Davis.

They should. A healthy Howard is still a very good defender and rebounder, if he creates problems you just cut him. Better signing than guys like JR or Beasley...

I'm just saying it makes sense.

It also has the possibility of a major blowup which would also be cool.

Minimums don't lead to blow ups, though--due to the low cost of cutting ties. I think dwight's s good bet on a min now.

But no way I take him on the lakers--honestly for branding purposes. We're invested in his sad decline as validation that going against us isn't "cool" and "edgy" but rather stupid and short-sighted.

I can't imagine Jerry West loving that idea. but it would be like a trojan horse. Help them implode from the inside by signing a proven champion like him.
