yes, u bend their legs hard, and if they snap, there was already a crack or it was bout to happen anywayz, so then it's no big deal. But it hurts like a mutha
I know that I had a stress fracture in my shin once and barely noticed it unless I stamped my foot hard on the ground and then it shot up through.
I hope he's another Jesse/Ryan/scouting department steal of the draft type of player. Can't believe the guy is only 18, I hope he gets mins
Norvell will be a steal as well imo, dude looks like Michael Redd....the cool part is that they're teammates from simeon hs, that school produced quite a few nba stars
The good thing is he’s aware of this, he’s spoken about it, I believe he said he’s already lost some of the weight. Another good thing is he’s only 18, won’t be 19 until late November. I’d be more concerned if he were a 3 or 4 year college player and already 22 or so, having had all that time to get in shape and not. But at 18, he’s a kid, he’s got time to get in shape and prove his work ethic.
^yes he is obviously a project and from a rational perspective... losing weight is something that you actually CAN control, so it should be easy with the righ diet. His biggest issue after weight is his J. If he gets that longball to go down, he is in a good position. He is young and isn't afraid to shoot which is already a plus.
Lord have mercy who edited that video? That's a short intention span seizure inducing video. My goodness.
Yep and its the smart move. We don't want him to suffer the same fate as Randle did opening night. It was later determined that part of the reason why Randle broke his foot/leg was a stress reaction.
Official height without shoes and standing reach measurements from NBA combine: Talen Horton-Tucker(6'2.5")- 8'7" Paul George(6'7.75")-8'11" Kawhi Leonard(6'6")-8'10" Klay Thompson(6'5.75")-8'7.5" Holy crud I didnt know THT is only 6'2&1/2 without shoes and 6'4 with shoes. Gives up 2" of standing reach to Kawhi and 3" to Paul George. Klay barely has him beat by half an inch. I'll have to look into verticals tomorrow. PS- FA Kyle Korver is 6'6.25" W/O shoes. 8'6.5" standing reach.
The thread title made me do it! In all seriousness...I trust the scouting department but the kid has a ways to go. Being young though will serve him well given he wants to work at it.
it will be nice that he has time to develop in the G league, as we don't even need him. I doubt he brings anything to the table that we won't already have. Maybe in two years when we gut the roster again to build around AD, he's good to go.
He can lose the weight. I was 178 at age 38 and am now down to 149 at age 40. (Humble brag, I know.) But if I can do it at age 40 without any professional cooks or trainers (other than Youtube videos) this dude can certainly slim down at his age with his resources. If he doesn't slim down within a year, it's a choice he's making and doesn't probably have the mentality to be successful in this league.
