He's got LeBron team there. I'm sure they are going to help Boogie get in the best of shape. I'm hearing AD looks great.
The caption of the video is as big of a stretch as the bad rap the NBA league and media has saddle Boogie with and that some fans has bought into.
Been watching a lot of DMC since we signed him. I did not see him much last year. He was still able to do some impressive moves. With this extra time I expect him to be an unstoppable force. We definitely have at least a big three. He will likely earn the starting spot. Manage minutes and we are good.
I love this signing. First it is a low risk signing with huge potential upside. Boogie has played with Lebron on team USA and he played a season with AD and Rondo and they know how to compliment each other. The Lakers and Boogie share a common goal of getting him back to his dominate playing self while winning a championship. And there is hope for a long term solution with the MLE and early Bird to keep him long term. Boogie has a chance to make this a big 3 and we will have some serious size advantages against everyone expect maybe Philly. Also he is another guy that can spread the floor. I think this team as constructed is the perfect place for Boogie to regain his form and flourish while wiping away some of the attitude question marks that haunted him earlier in his career though I still expect him to be colorful and interesting.
Every team Boogie has joined were excited when he signed and were also excited when he left. Not saying he is not a unique talent and definitely a great basketball player (pre-injury) but its not that simple to evaluate his impact on and off the court. We will have to wait and see. Its ok for fans to be excited but Boogie had 2 very serious injuries, one is particularly famous for ending careers as we got to know them... Lets see how that works. Also the way the NBA has moved to smaller and smaller lineups...a starting lineup with Cousins and AD doesn't look really realistic. AD is absolutely a C in today's NBA, whether he likes it or not. He can play PF but he still occupies the C spot and did that last year almost exclusively for the Pels. Is Cousins going to be fine coming off the bench? We don't know. Is he coming off the bench? we don't know that either. But when I see this ideas with Kuzma, AD, Cousins, Green and LeBron I have to LOL. Thats just not going to happen. Too much of a speed disadvantage to overcome. Size only makes sense if you are able to exploit it.
Boogie has only left one team and as a native born New Orleanian. I can vouch to the fact that they weren't happy he left. This is another prime example of how the media has unjustly created a narrative around him and it spirals into something bigger
As we saw last year towards the end of the season, Boogie is still a 20/10 guy. Whether he can recover to a 27/12/5 guy remains to be seen, but a 20/10 Boogie is still a better basketball player than McGee. I think we should definitely experiment with a Boogie/AD frontcourt. If McGee turns out to be a better fit, then so be it, but our team's ceiling is much higher with Boogie out on the floor.
I also think Boogie on one leg is ahead of McGee...McGee can't shoot, can't playmake for others, doesn't have a pounding post game.. Boogie is just a much superior overall player...McGee has the blocking ability that Boogie doesn't. I'm not saying Boogie is done by any means. He still showed he is a 20/10 guy in the right format. But in GS he was surrounded by 4 dead eye shooters, so he could shine. The Pelicans played their best basketball towards the end of the season when Boogie was on the bench. Whether they were excited or not, they didn't offer him a max extention, thats a fact. And he wasn't happy and left.
Yes, but they liked him. New Orleans liked him as well. Sacramento was his only bitter parting if I remember correctly. He's done a great job remaking his image since those days.
No he didn't, he left New Orleans after a contract misunderstanding . GSW didn't resign him and nobody there had a problem with Boogie
