Thank you for bringing up KG. I have always felt the same way about Davis. I don't think casual fans know how insanely talented this kid is.
Like I said, Lebron and AD have been regarded as transcendent talents since they were drafted. I checked and Google seems to agree what I've read over the years.
"I don't think AD is transcendent"- a sentence from someone who just hasn't watched enough of him or looked into his career at all. The man is without a doubt a transcendent talent and one of the most uniquely talented bigs we've seen in decades. I argued this with Punk but Punk correctly pointed out the last time we saw a big with this combination of mobility, touch, and athleticism was Hakeem Olajuwon. Davis puts up numbers only comparable to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. The Pelicans gave him a decent supporting cast for the first time in his career amd he swpt a 3 seed Blazers team. Not transcedent? I'm eager to see him make you eat those words. But bringing this back on topic, DeMarcus has always been a tremendously talented guy. Last year he showed he can be a good teammate, a winning player, and is willing to sacrifice for the betterment of the team. He's a very interesting fit next to Davis with his ability to shoot and pass the ball. Cousins also allows Davis to play the 4 and is willing (excited?) to play thr 5 and get physical. I predict Cousins will quickly become a fan favorite.
Bad attitude. Overweight. Not a winner. Cousins got all this bad reputation at the start of his career and has been unfairly stuck with it ever since. But the kid worked his way to get back into shape (somewhat) following his achilles injury, and contributed to the Warriors' cause. He's now two years removed from that injury, and just like LBJ and AD have something to prove to all the haters. If I can just borrow from the past, this year's team could be the Redeem Team. LBJ, AD, DMC will all want to prove the doubters wrong.
i was rooting for cousins last year, and i'll obviously be rooting harder this year. don't think he's getting a fair shake amongst fans and the press. we'll see, though. maybe everybody's right. if they are, we cut him like houston did melo last year.
Cousins can bring up the rock on a rare occasion when need be... A couple of spots in The Finals, did so and flicked it to open wings for shots.
My hope is DMC comes into this season with a focus he has never had before. I don't care if he wants to be in people's face and talking smack, that's fine. What we need him to be is 25-12 guy with the awesome free throw percentage. DMC playing like himself before the injuries puts the Lakers in a position where they can't lose. They have enough shooters and enough defense now. Just need that 3rd and 4th guy to be just as scary in scoring as Lebron and AD are.
He's fine for a 3rd big ... His biggest value may be taking a cheap shot at K******* ... I wouldn't complain one bit
Boogie was a monster talent before the injury. The good news is a lot of what he excels at is skill based rather than athleticism. He's a big strong dude who can shoot from all over the court, he's a nice passer from the post and a handful on the block. He's a very savvy player. Of course the downside is his anger issues and now will be his conditioning and weight. I agree with others, he has to slim it down this off season and get back into shape. Hopefully his time off has chilled him out. I like that he's back together with AD.
...this signing, all sorts of silly disco/dance songs in my head. Other than that, yeah like we all said.
This is nice real.. Since your back I can just sit back and hit the like button. About all work is allowing anyway...lol
I do believe we will see a different Cousins. Surrounded by this kind of talent he is done if he cant shine. I think he knows that and will be on a mission.
if things work out (fingers crossed) and he is back at 70-80%, would we have cap to give him a raise n keep him around as long as AD is here?
