I don't wanna see cousins shooting 3s. I want to see him bully people in the post. When we play the clips in the western finals i want to unleash ad/boogie on them. They don't have any real bigs other than zu
I think they're shaping it around McGee's deal for the rest of the cap space which would preserve the Room Exception then.
His career might depend on it! I think he will come into camp slim and ready. He may be out of the league in 2 or 3 years if he looks like he did last year
Well they technically have a minimum contract left before the cap and then they've got the Room Exception which is about 4.8m I believe. That 4.8m can be split up or it can be used on one player for up to two seasons. I'd assume we're targeting Bradley or Iggy with that.
I feel like Morris is a perfect basketball fit next to LBJ and AD. given his Klutch connections, and his patience during FA, figured this marriage would be a lock. surprised the basketball minds of our FO and Klutch haven't prioritized this. I would have pursued him as priority 1b right behind DG.
LMAO!! I literally was thinking that exact same thing just about an hour ago. Kid you not. Yes this makes me very happy. And with LBJ looking ready for gladiator contact and AD big as he is, and Javale is not a weak man. Then you add comeback year and contract year Boogie Cousins ..... WOW!
Thank GOD! This is a great signing. Now we're set. I can rest easy from the Kawhi debacle...granted, KCP still pisses me off.
Definite low risk signing. He needed more time than last season to show people he's back. A healthy offseason and lots of motivation to show he still has it could lead to that one last big payday next year. In the meantime, this is a good center rotation with McGee, hence AD won't have to spend a lot of time playing the 5 except in small ball scenarios.
KCP at his best is an asset. Not at that price, yuck. But remember last year or the year before with some athletes on the team he was the fastest guy in camp. Improved his shot last year and now that coach will be around full time on the staff. Great athlete. Hopefully will rediscover whatever mojo he used to have on defense. Not like he's old. That's supposed to be a strength of Vogel's getting his guys to buy into accountability. He talked about it. The team thing.
He was still a 16.3/8.2/3.6 guy with a 21.44 PER during his year coming back from the injury. That is worth 3.5m any day, any time.
