I'm not sure how this guy is still employed.

He has made up so much stuff.

" Sources told me Lakers had strong meeting . Dr Dre heavily involved . Talks on having Kawhi featured on " What it do Baby" the rumored 1st single of "Detox", the legendary producer long awaited album"

Did the NBA send a memo to Toronto that Drake is not allowed to join an official pitch meeting with Raptors or is - as usual - every rule only restricted to the Lakers.

I’m more concerned with the roster we can put together around AD and Lebron. It feels like shopping on the clearance rack during Christmas when all the good stuff has been picked over.

I dunno what you mean with "all the good stuff"...

32 mio....in today's NBA gets you 1 or 2 pieces of "good stuff"...

Its not like you can add 5 above average players..

Ya players that are good cost 20+ mio....look at Malcolm Brogdon...21 mio. per year...averages 15 and 4 assists...how many of those do you sign with 32 million?

You can find vet min players that give you 10/4 instead of 15/4...and aren't 23...instead they are 33. Who cares? 70% production on 1/20th of the same salary...I'll take my chances.

Same applies to Rozier at 19 mio....averages 11/4.

Kawhi is worth every risk. Whether he decides to come or not. One month ago I gave us zero percent. Now its at least 33%...can't complain about taking a shot at the Finals MVP.

Th same way Amin El-Hassan has a job...or Ramona Shelbourse...or Zach Lowe or Ric Bucher...or many others.

If you want to be in the media...you need to be outspoken and have a warm body with a pulse.

So you would have rather dropped out of having a 50% chance at getting Kawhi to get two role players at 13 mil per? because that’s what the upper tier ones were going for. That’s two guys.

To be fair to Broussard he was the first “Kawhi to the Clippers/Lakers won’t have Cap Space for Kawhi/Lakers not getting AD/No Way LeBron will be a Laker” insider to do a 180 on all accounts whereas everyone else was steadfast in being wrong until the actual news broke.

@MambaMentality Solid posts in these last few pages newbie. Well thought out and portrayed. I think Kawhi is just respecting the process.

@puffyusaf#2 I agree with everything you said and I carelessly threw out the diva title. I personally don't believe in that title either. I guess the only thing that I feel Kawhi is being diva-ish in is in f***ing up another man's bag haha. There's definitely a holding pattern for alot of guys till Kawhi makes his decision. But that really isn't his responsibility either.

I still believe he's on the way. We just gotta hang tight.

All that being said, I wonder how favorable of a position we'd be in if we just brought in Masai (got Lowry on his side even after trading his best friend), Riles (got the Butler deal done even with Cuban being an a**), Griff (for the haul he got in a guy that forced his way out) or Myers (got an asset back even after losing KD) once Magic left.

Also the inconvenient truth in all of this is Bron/AD failed in recruiting if Kawhi goes elsewhere. I hope it doesn't come to that cause Bron been hardly the diva he has been portrayed to be (ie came alone in 1st day of free agency last summer and essentially sacrificed a year of his prime without bad mouthing the kids while that narrative of him wanting them gone was running rampant throughout the media).

Who said I didn't want Kawhi? I’ve stated on here countless times that if you get a chance to sign Kawhi you have to.

Frank Isola is a New York Knicks beat writter/insider. How the hell would he have any idea Kawhi would have 99.9% leanings towards the Raptors? That makes zero sense, considering that the whole reason we’re here is Kawhi wanted out of San Antonio to the Lakers.

This smells to me like jilted Knicks media wanting to see the Lakers come down a peg so they can feel better about themselves.

I’m not hurting that we missed out on the Middle Class overpaying sweepstakes. Let other teams blow their cap space for JJ, Ross, Bogdonovic etc.

Agreed, also keep in mind this is a Knicks writter/insider. He would have zero inside to Kawhi’s camp.

Or ..... if Mag had stuck around 3 more months in his position and THEN left in a conventional manner? Or even just the latter?

"LeBron James made The Decision on the 8th of July. ... This is how it normally plays out. We had such a frenzy the first day, everybody automatically assumed, 'This is what Kawhi was going to do.' And that's the mistake that you made. Kawhi is on his timeline." —

I'm still laughing at Jalen coming out with his 99%

That dude doesn't know any more, than me.

No one is taking to him, feeding him "insider" info. There isn't any.

Jalen Rose saying Kawhi’s staying in Toronto because he grew up fighting for every dollar, and took the money in that Michigan scandal. Jalen was always about the money in his NBA career. Also Jalen Rose is not from LA, he’s an East Coast guy. He doesn’t understand, when you grow up in Southern California, you never want leave.
