    @gill It's not news and I would go to sleep! After the morning debacle I had a chance to talk to some of my friends at AEG who told me this is what they suspected. Again to reiterate there's no evidence of this. Lakers FO has been quiet other than my last update where they told AEG to be patient and that they were confident.

    On a sidenote if Kawhi is this introverted, can he really handle being a Laker? I mean everything gets leaked, twisted and rumored like crazy...especially personal details and injury related matters. How is he going to handle that if the Lakers hit some speedbumps along the way?

    I don’t think this is a matter of him being introverted. It just feels like he wants to specifically have control over the timing and method of his announcement, most likely out of respect to Toronto.

    I think Bron and AD can run interference for him with the press. Vogel did a great job dodging arrows in his introductory press conference also. Maybe between all of them, they can take a lot of the public relations burden of Kawhi.

    I think it'll be alright. I mean he grew up here so he knows what this job entails. I think he's more concerned about the cohesiveness of the FO and making sure that there's a firm foundation. If he signs there will be a s***load of pressure to win a title no doubt but he has never played with this kind of talent either.

    It’s all good. I start a night shift tomorrow so I need to be sleeping in the daytime anyway. Thanks for all the updates!

    I honestly didn’t expect an announcement today since it was Canada Day. Optics would’ve been bad if he did so. Then again, everyone here would just go back to talking hockey or the CFL. Regardless, keeping up with FA news all day was thrilling for me.

    Turner said on Mason & Ireland today (no idea where he’s getting his info) that part of LeBron’s pitch to Kawhi is that he will handle all the media circus so Kawhi won’t have to. Said he’ll take more of a back seat on offense to allow Kawhi and AD to be the main stars too. Of course this could have all been speculation on his part, but it sure sounded like he was told this stuff.

    If anything LeBron has been bashed in the past for passing up and not taking over and setting up teammates to a fault. He certainly doesn't care about scoring numbers.

    He has also proven with Bosh, Irving, Love and especially Wade that his ego can handle other stars next to him. Is he going to be ball dominant? you bet but the guy is almost 35...he isn't going to want and probably even cannot continue to average 28/8/8 for another 2-3 years.

    I also think the Lakers will get into the load management thing and always rotate players to have 2 stars on the court most of the time instead of three...

    This has to be enticing for everyone. LeBron is old and Kawhi and AD need load management for health reasons. Win-Win.
