    I’m pretty sure we did try to trade for him, but I remember “sources” saying Pop would send Kawhi to the moon before he would the Lakers. Nothing we could do there. And of course you let him bring his own medical people.

    I won't believe any of these "leaked" or "I'm hearing" reports at all. We been burned too many times by this league. I want K Len to join this squad but after the Pauly Goergie crap I'm waiting on the real deal to happen before I get excited about any of it.

    I think Kawhi had to have asked Magic if we tried to trade for him because Pop told him we didn't @ their little restaurant meeting in San Diego.

    Something like:

    Kawhi: "I'd like to be traded to the Lakers"
    Pop: "Mmm ok well we'll see what can be done"
    Kawhi: "Did they try to contact you or RC about a trade?"
    Pop: "Nope, not a peep from the Lakers"

    Really, really, want us to be on Kawhi's revenge train vs. Pop and the Spurs this season. Like some of the old school beatdowns Kobe and Shaq used to lay on them.

    Look, we absolutely have to wait on him. No way we spend money on P. Beverleys if there is a modicum of chance Kawhi signs with us. We have two superstars, role players will join, trust me. We’ll have Iggy and Rondo, Seth, Caruso, MCG Is still out there... there are others. Have to wait, win or lose.

    Too many people think we have a legit shot at Kawhi for us to walk away from the table. I’m okay with us waiting especially seeing some of the contracts guys are signing.

    If we sign Kawhi, nobody is going to give a crap about Patrick Beverly. We will have put 3 guys together that can win us a title immediately, possibly even back to back and have us pass the C Bags and still have the pieces young enough in place to continue a dynasty when LeBron moves on. If you have a chance to sign Kawhi Leonard, you don’t worry about the Patrick Beverlys of the world.

    I’d almost trust myself to play the 1 for 10 minutes with those 3 guys on the floor. I will not hold it against our FO if they wait even if they don’t succeed. As long as they give it their best shot. This is a player you don’t give up on. I don’t care if Rondo ends up starting with them.

    Just wait for Kawhi and fill up the pieces later once he inks the contract. This team will be instant championship contenders even if the 7th and 8th man rotation spots are filled by Jack Nicholson and Snoop Dogg

    I assume meetings have to take place for the needle to move.

    The current sentiment is that the Clippers have lost ground and the Lakers have gained ground. The Clippers were significantly favored compared to the Lakers but now its even in the odds.

    But Vegas odds etc. are still in favor of him returning to Toronto. I think it is undeniable that his mind isn't yet 100% made up or else he wouldn't have called Magic and asked questions etc...obviously we are still in the running...

    I personally feel that the Clippers have become unattractive. Kawhi can't be dumb enough to believe that he will turn the Clippers into a juggernaut and outshine the Lakers for the foreseeable future.

    I also think if he goes back to the Raptors, he can only lose. He has already won with them and is a legend...he will also know that next year, Toronto is not going to be the favorite to win it all even as defending champ. It was a lucky scenario which - to his credit - Kawhi took advantage of.

    So going to Toronto is a tough sell because it can only go down from here...going to the Clippers is also a tough sell because they couldn't get a second guy. With the Lakers he is guaranteed contention and doesn't have to carry such a heavy load which means his body will not suffer quite as much. The Lakers by all account are the most attractive option...except for their consistently dysfunctional front office turmoil.

    I hope he learns from the Paul George situation and does not try and go out like that. Also I hope that he has some fire in his belly against the Spurs and knows that going with the Lakers will truly hop on Pop(avich) after the way he exited the Spurs. I respect Pops but lord knows he is a salty mofo when it comes to the colors purple and gold.

    Come on Broussard...even under broken clock theory, it's your time to be right.

    Hopefully Kyrie and KD taking less + AD giving up $4m pushes Kawhi willing to take a little less to make that happen. I think he would for Green.

    Iggy. Green, Curry, and Rondo is a very good G/F rotation. I'd be worried about our frontcourt depth. Can we put McGee in Space Jam 2 and sign him for the minimum?

    Brodrick Turner had good stuff to say in regards to what Magic told Kawhi. I also liked what I heard from Kawhi's questions back.
