He knows his stuff. I have always liked Stephen A. He’s on point. Please don’t argue with me now.

i don't think anyone ever doubted kawhi would at least meet with the lakers

this isn't the PG situation where he signs with OKC on day one because he's in love with westbrook

Well Woj doubted it. He scoffed at it.

"The Lakers were never going to get a max player".

This is starting to get interesting. :).

I'm glad to hear SAS say that LeBron and Kawhi have a "very good relationship." That is cool.

I'll be busy Sunday, unfortunately, but I'll be locked into Twitter.

Just wanted to point out that whether its guessing or not, that Ayre Abraham kid that everyone hates has actually been more correct about what's happening with the Lakers and Kawhi than Woj.

Although I really want this to happen for our team, I also want really want this to happen to see the absolute social media apocalypse that will reign down on all the reporters that have been crapping on us.

Not to mention last week, this very same Stephen A. Smith was saying it was between the Clippers and Toronto for Kawhi. His argument was: 1. The Lakers don't have the cap room and 2. Why would Kawhi want to come and be the third wheel when he's proven he can be the number one guy on a team.

So it's nice to see him come back and have to report this. HIs first point is of course now moot. His second point was asinine. It's not about a hierarchy on a team. The Showtime Lakers had KAJ, Magic and Worthy. In this case with the Lakers at this moment it's about Kawhi rounding out the best team in the NBA with the greatest chance to win over the next handful of years or even more. He's teaming up with AD for goodness sake! They are in both in their absolute prime. The Lakers are the golden team of the NBA and he will maximize everything here - most opportunities for merchandizing, best place to live, best chance to load manage with Lebron and AD to share PT with, and the best odds as hands down favorites for championships going forward.

Kind of a no-brainer really. He did his job in Toronto. Now it's time for maximum glory.

Nah man. Woj and Ramona said it (that we wouldn't have a max slot) and the internet has clearly told us they never lie.

Jay Williams is saying Kawhi to the Lakers would be a weaker move than KD to the Warriors. Huh? How is that even comparable? A ring-chaser joining a 73 win team that just beat yo a** in the playoffs?

I'd say it would be close to when Lebron formed a superteam in Miami, but not as weak because Kawhi is a champion already. He gets to dictate wherever the f*** he wants to go.

Was literally just sayin this ina group chat...how is this even comparable?

Did kawhi lose to the Lakers in the playoffs?

Did the Lakers win 73 games last year and come within 1 game of winning it all?

Did AD's team make the playoffs last year?

    Did LeBron's?

Oh both their teams were in the lotto?

STFU about this being a 'weak' move Jay Will!!!

Also...as I'm thinking about ti more and more...I hope more and more people call it a "weak" move...bcuz Kawhi the type of dude to go the OPPOSITE of what everyone wants of him. Look what he did with San Antonio...everyone questioned him right? He stuck to his guns and believed in himself. If HE believes he'll be the BEST player on the Lakers and LEAD us to a title and win MVP and Finals MVP with LeBron AND AD on the squad? He'll do it. And I'm perfectly OK with that.

Man. I don't know how the Steve Fisher connection to Kawhi and Pelinka slipped my mind all this time.

Kawhi couldn't care less what others think about him so it's working in our favor here .

If I had to guess , Kawhi "style" would tell you he's not forming a BIG 3 and doesn't want the attention of the Lakers and Klutch circus BUT he really "listens to" his body more than anything else lately so there is hope .

    In Cuffs We Trust

    Also

    Bosh/Wade/Lebron - 2 titles
    KD/Steph/Klay - 2 titles

Big 3s win titles. Depth matters but Toronto doesn’t win this year with the Warriors healthy. Golden State doesn’t win if Love/Kyrie healthy (pre-KD).

Superstars win in the Finals that is a massive advantage. Every day all day. If injuries happen they happen.

Lebron / AD / Kawhi inject it into my veins.

That would be insane but I think it has legs because SAS has been saying Clippers or Raptors forever until...today.

I'm sure the guy has some kinda source to have made that kind of 180 cuz you're right I never seen him even consider the Lakers.

Is it weird that I'll be 75% as hyped as I would be for Kawhi when Ariza comes thru on the room exception and completes the God Squad

    Ariza
    Kawhi
    Bron
    Kuzma
    AD

That closing lineup would be the f***ing Infinity Gauntlet. Switch everything and destroy everyone lmao. 16-0 playoff run if that s*** ever happens
