We retire 6. It's not like Lebron's time as #23 was all that memorable.

Yeah after I said it I didn't recall if you were in the angry mob that was pissed they all went silent after Magic did what he did and she also wasn't railroaded into starting over from scratch in the FO. But the night she finally said what she did you hammered her disgustingly and I blew up at you saying she was damned if she did and damned if she didn't. My point stands.

Vash, I can easily see Lue and his agent leaking the coaching stuff to try and get back at us. What makes you so sure it was Rob?

But details about not offering a contract and sitting on it for weeks was part of the reporting for Monty as well.

I'm not saying Lue may have not put out some leaks in the aftermath, but I'm pretty sure he did not do so during the interim, cause obviously he was trying to get that job.

And who kept throwing out the, we can't cater to Klutch/Bron narrative...was that Lue?

Woj wrote about Zo, BI, being the principles. He wrote about Kuz not being involved. He wrote about the trade kicker not being waived. He wrote about the deal being done on July 6th. He wrote about us being aggressive in getting 2nd round picks. He wrote about Moe/Bonga/JJ suddenly becoming available and shopped.

I mean all of that came true so someone leaked something. It could be Klutch with the AD kicker leak, but why potentially sabotage AD's new team in doing so? I'm not saying its Rob. It could be Jesse Buss in wanting Robs spot...who really knows haha.

But my point of contention is that Magic was hurting the Lakers with his big mouth. Nah, it's been the leaks that not only consumed us this last month but for the entire year after Bron committed. Media been hating since then and I'll argue had Bron and some of our kids stayed healthy we are playoff team last year with our 1yr stop gap contracts still allowing us a max spot for Kawhi this summer.

Lastly Tania confirms that the Lakers reworked this deal since Atl refused to holdout Hunter in summer league via the 4th pick.

So even the "scramble" reports were true.

Now I'm not protecting Woj and his personal narratives...those stay trash. But someone is feeding him this info from within the Laker walls and that person needs to be found out and admonished, before being dumped for the trash they are.

Ramona said on The Jump that she was told that AD would likely waive his trade kicker for Kawhi, Kyrie or Jimmy.

Trying not to get my hopes up!

I don't believe Ramona anymore, but hopefully she's right.

Exactly. Ramona has lost so much credibility to me after her "rob called the pelicans back" comment...

I’d be thrilled with any of these guys. Obviously Kawhi is the guy you want, but if we get Butler I think we are title favorites, we’d have kept him out of Houston and we’d have the best big 3 in the league.

Ramona also said last week that the Lakers have no avenue to a max slot and that Rob perhaps messed up the timing of the deal. And she said that AD probably would not waive his trade kicker.

She also came on ESPNLA a few weeks back to specifically discuss the "scrambling" part of their discussion on ESPN.

I'm sorry, but signing J. Jones to a deal with 2 weeks left in the season, so the team had the option to sign a max FA and make the AD trade as an over the cap team with proper 125% salary matching does not indicate "scrambling", it indicates "execution of plan".

Today's news also makes me feel better that there is some contingency in case the big fish don't sign. There is a plan!

Sorry Vash but no way I believe the “scramble” report. Did we technically rework the deal, depends on how you look at it. I believe we always had the agreement with NO to work with us to our advantage. Once NO traded the 4th pick, obviously Atlanta didn’t want to play along. We then went to our backup plan of finding another team to take Moe, Bonga, Jones. I wouldn’t consider that in anyway scrambling.

I believe we have had leaks. With the sports press being what they are, who knows if they aren’t making up stuff as they go along. Maybe Lue thought the job was his. He leaked it because he knew we were looking at other coaches and he wanted to force our hand. I for one am not going to believe anything Woj says anymore. If our own Ramona is being told misinformation on our plans, I would think the leaks have greatly declined. I’m not saying the leaks were all Magic. I personally can see Rambis being a suspect, especially if he is as power hungry as Mr. Rambis says.
