Did you just call us "you people"??? SMH Just because you don't understand something, you want to beat the crap out of it in Temecula. If this makes you feel better..... Dictionary am·i·rite /ˌamīˈrīt/ exclamation INFORMAL•US exclamation: amirite; exclamation: amiright am I right? (used to invite confirmation or assert that one's previous statement is correct). "not much point to it now, amirite?"
He'll spend time in the G-League - which is actually very well run; Joey and them guys do a good job. As far as the pick, I like it - what I like most about it? Davis is 26. He won't turn 27 until next March, I believe; so, you can take THT develop him for 1 or 2 years, and by the time he's ready to contribute, Davis will only be 28 or so... What does that mean? We have to start looking for pieces eyeing our future; players that we can fit around Anthony post-Lebron. So, while you may be LeBron and AD this season, we have to start thinking about the future and the pieces that we can start fitting around Davis, IMO. In other words, we have to start focusing (with an eye toward the immediate future), of building around Davis, so when LBJ does decline and/or retire, we can make a seamless transition and still be very competitive - sustained success. It starts with moves like these...
Agree with everything except I think they will try to get him some PT this year because he's physically ready. the other thing I agree with, but hate to admit because he's my favorite player, is that Lebron is clearly already in decline. He's not the same player. We'll see flashes, and because of his BBall IQ and size, and ball dominance for better or worse, he'll still get gaudy numbers. Hopefully the crew can help hide his terrible defense 90% of the time, and maybe he'll quit on court shaming and blaming others for his shortcomings.
That's the truth. He's freaking 18 years old and is strong already and when Judy gets ahold of him and he starts training the optimum ways ..... look the hell out. Let's go! I've said getting him takes a little sting out of losing a player like Josh was from a basketball metric personalities notwithstanding. In a way, if he wants it and you know Bron's going to be tutoring him and teaching .... he also replaces for me a nice portion of Julius. For his position(s) "beast" potential.
I said it when I first saw him play and I’ll say it now, he doesn’t look or move like an 18 year old out there.
I don't understand how this guy with those skills, wing span, hand size, defense for 4 positions, quick feet, metrics with the upper per centile in so many areas on offense too, and his size and strength at the age of 18 dropped so f****** far? Where's @D-Fish Man .... what have you heard? Sorry
Seems like that was the cost this year. There were trades early in the 2nd of 4 2nds round picks for one. Weird trade year. Maybe the whole league got hit with a tax because they all knew the Lakers wanted 2nds.
Yeah, I’m not letting the league off the hook for this, there is indeed a Lakers tax. Whether it’s because the league is fearful of us, or whether it’s because they don’t like or respect Rob, I don’t know, but it’s there.
Lakers tax or Rob's finesse game...but I agree with you Omar. Bol Bol is more of a "namer" and was a higher pick than THT. Yet we paid more than Denver. Maybe they got him cheaper due to Bol Bol's health concerns...or maybe Connelly if more of a wheeler & dealer. Utah also got more bang for their buck in their deal that was 4 picks away from our THT pick. So we paid 300k more more spot. Btw, Pincus also had this to report on Bron's boy Simmons. Expect dude to get waived and LA should already be reaching out to get him.
