Someone needs to tell Danny that the players have not said they would die to play there, what they said is that if they were forced to play there, they would die.
I know people make fun of the Knicks (rightfully).... but their core isn't that bad to build on... Dennis Smith, Kevin Knox, RJ Barrett, Mitchel Robinson, Julius Randle. thats a pretty good start and I'm sure if they spend a few seasons, FAs will be drawn to their market. It still boggles my mind they gave away Porzingis for Smith. I think they could have done better than that.
People have been saying the bolded part here for like 20 years. The Knicks are trash, and they will never be good as long as Dolan is the owner. They salary dumped Porzingis because they thought they were getting Kyrie and Durant this offseason, that’s why they’re getting killed today. Signing Randle, Portis, Gibson, and Bullock is not exciting, it’s the Knicks defined, absolute mediocrity. Hell our ownership has been trashed in the media for like a decade, Magic quit and trashed our GM live on ESPN, but LeBron still chose to come here, and Klutch still chose to maneuver Davis here in a trade, and we still might sign Kawhi Leonard. The Knicks are so toxic no star wants to touch them. Biggest deal they got was Melo because he wanted the money and then he wanted out like a few years later. They’re crap, they might be a little more fun to watch now, but this core will move on from them or be traded in time too, because that org rots from the head, and Dolan is rotten as they come.
