Yeah, it’s quite something. I expected a degree of this, but not the entire roster either. Fear not though, Rondo could be back.
    :SadPau2:

But seriously, I couldn’t care less if we have to give away Moe, Bonga, and Jones. I would like to re-sign Caruso though, and McGee. I guess I don’t have an issue with gutting the team for the 3 max guys route, because we can always fill out the roster again once LeBron is done if we have AD and that other guy. My concern was always we’d trade away our kids for 2nd tier guys and be stuck in mediocrity as LeBron aged, I never even imagined we’d trade them for Anthony Davis.

Why are we so aggressive in finding 2nd round picks?

Cause unsigned, they don't count against the cap which maximizes our space, when we fill up the roster.

But why do we need to fill the roster with cheap talent when we have 30m+ in cap space to go after multiple free agents and round out the roster that way?

    Ohhhhh.

Yeah, getting that 3rd max guy helps set our roster post-Lebron. That's the end goal here. I think it's quite very crucial to keeping AD here, there's a slim chance he leaves in FA, but it'll help, but also to maximize his prime while he plays with us. This is a good crop of Tier 1 and 2 level stars that are worth putting next to AD, especially when we have money AND attractiveness to do so.

Imagine how our drafting team feels.

Basically all of their hard work for 6 years all for one Anthony Davis and Kyle Kuzma.

Everyone else unceremoniously shipped out for cap space to sign max guys.

Best not get attached in this business.

If someone told them 6 years ago that we would end up with Lebron James, AD, and another max player, they would laugh.

We're the Lakers, if one of those had the inkling of being a franchise player, we would've stuck it out. But we're back in contention faster than most teams would be, with ELITE SUPERSTAS nonetheless, it's nice to be a Laker fan.

I'd imagine the lottery picks were the upper management's choice. The drafting team is responsible for the steals late in the 1st round and early 2nd round. The crown jewel is Kuzma who we kept. I'm sure they're proud of their work.

I think they could take pride in the fact that the one guy we kept is the one they deftly selected with the 27th pick, which was a much savvier move than taking Ingram and Ball at #2, which were basically givens. D-Lo we had to trade to get out of Moz/Deng purgatory, which i’m sure our guys understand. If anything, our scouting team is probably still wondering what the hell happened with Zu.

Those draft picks got Anthony Davis. I'd say, the drafting department is very happy. Plus, the Lakers will have a late first rounder next year they can chomp at the bits with.

Lakers are about winning titles. How or what, doesn't matter. Winning titles makes all that come together.

Man, this guy just REFUSES to say anything bad about the C Bags....the analyst shed all the negative light on them and Woj was doing his JOB, which was reporting the facts and not putting his personal opinion on it...but when it comes to the Lakers? Oh he'll make sure eveyrone knows how he FEELS about us....f***ing hack.
