i'm not sure this is great news for them. sounds like they pissed his agent off by going around him, and dantoni didn't take the bait. tbh, they need to just buy him out at this point. any turmoil next year and things will combust, imo.
Rox swung for the fences and it didnt work out. The problem is there was/ is no viable Plan B, other than to try to move some pieces and build another contender on the fly around Harden. Trying to move pieces though, mostly involves locating a greater fool- can they find a trade partner dumb/ desperate enough to take on CP3's contract and not notice his diminishing skills and injury record? Morey seems to think the greater fool is LAL.
i think their plan is to move capela and eric gordon and 1st rounders for a big name, perhaps after churning those guys into other assets. jimmy butler's the target, and with the way teams like to help houston out, i wouldn't count it out as a possibility. real issue is that harden can't be an iron man forever. he plays big minutes with a heavy body. he doesn't exert much on d, but still, he's been incredibly lucky in the injury department. how many perennial allstars reach 30 while never having missed significant time?
How could this happen to D. Morey? The greatest and smartest executive that has ever lived? James such a classy guy and Paul such an amazing winner and leader....I can't believe ESPN making up stories like this.
That is truly fantastic. Can’t wear that color green as a Lakers fan though. I’d get the black one if they did the font in white and green like on the sticker, but just black with white lettering it kinda loses the joke, bummer.
