I would LOVE Brogdon. He is a very good player and more importantly, extremely bright. He reminds me of Shane Battier. Unfortunately, there is no way the Bucks don't match any number that hovers in the 15 mil per range, which to me, is what his market is for him.

I would go that route too but all those guys would have to take less which we dont know if they will or not. And Brogs at 15 mil will get matched by the Bucks. And if the Lakers did make him an offer, that hamstrings them on other signing. Offer sheets for restricted free agents is like betting on single and double zero green on the roulette table. Lakers can't risk with Lebron right now, they either need to go one way or the other and it has to be within their control. Offering any restricted guys offer sheets is too big a gamble.

Still can't believe we actually pulled it off with such "crappy assets".

    More details slowly trickling in...

Apparently LA had the option to give up Kuzma and keep a pick and a swap, or something along those lines. But Pelinka felt that it was unlikely would find value as good as Kuzma late in the first round again, so he went with it. Also, if the offseason goes according to plan, he views Kuzma as a valuable bench scorer, something he saw immensely benefited the playoff teams which had that option, and hurt those that didn't, especially Golden State.

Good to hear. I think Kuzma should be seen as a sixth man, and not part of a smaller starting 5 where AD plays Center. AD prefers the 4, and having both Lebron/Kuz as the starting front court would cause some defensive struggles and too much pressure on AD.

    Also something more important...

I'm not hearing the same as Woj that the deal is done on July 6th. It seems to be his opinion more than anything. My understanding is the Pelicans at the time of the trade did verbally agree to hold off final execution of the trade until later in July. But, if they decide to become antagonistic, they can certainly backtrack on that, though in my opinion, Griffin doesn't strike me as that type of negotiator.

    That's all for now.

    Best,
    Mr. Rambis

Agreed, I'd prefer to add a center who can either defend (McGee) or shoot (Lopez, Vuc) but ideally you want him to be a cheap contract. Kuz would be a valuable scorer off the bench, but when needed we could go small with AD at the 5 and Kuz at 4.

Wish we would have kept Zubac... he was cheap and could’ve started or spelled McGee (if he returns). That was such a dumb move. With a couple of centers, AD could’ve stayed at the 4.

I don’t know the details but pretty sure we wouldn’t have been able to keep Zubac and maintain a max slot.

I think there will be a few ring chasers at various positions wanting to come here.

Remember when JJ had to cancel a charity event to report asap to LA...maybe there's something to that if the deal gets done on July 6th.

Fyi: we would have to trade everybody and have only Bron, AD and Deng's dead money on our books to have 30.5m of cap space on our books. That would be 2.2m short of a 30% max free agent.

"Some folks" want to "cap"italize on the opportunity tho. You etch out a max, then preserve it and see it through.

Btw the deal ain't done yet.
