At the very least we add Jimmy Butler to this.

I honestly don't want to read any complaints. If I would have told you prior to LBJ signing last year that we could have a LeBron/AD/3rd star trio in the near future you'd say do it at all costs. We have to matter again. This is the start.

The fact that the extra first was thrown in to perhaps allow us to make this deal official after July 6th, and the fact we were reportedly insisting Kuzma be the guy we keep instead of Ingram tells me the Lakers know something about one of the max guys. Kuz instead of Ingram and an extra first is a lot to give up if we just thought we might have a shot at another max dude.

Agree re Kemba. But I don't know how/why Kawhi isn't the #1 priority.

I'm seeing some concern over AD's trade kicker.

Short answer: it ain't matter either way.

If the trade is made pre-draft (ie July 6th with unsigned 4th) then we take in AD+trade kicker (31.2m) into our cap space and aggregate Zo/BI/Hart (18m) and still have 23.8m in cap space.

If the trade is made post-draft (ie August after 4th is signed to a contract) then we need to send a minimum of 24.9m in outgoing salary and Zo/Bi/Hart/4th@7.1m aggregate to about 25m which is just enough.

So don't let the trade kicker deter y’all...unless y'all want a max guy with our cap space. In that case, we need to complete the deal in August and I figure we gave up 3 1st rounders as incentive to do just that.

@Savory Griddles It was thrown in to push deal through after Bulls dropped out. Pelinka was getting impatient and Pelicans wanted more assets especially without Bulls involved. #4 and future picks give them flexibility to make more deals this summer. Personally I think the Lakers could have waited out Griffin, but this is definitely a nice outcome for everyone involved!

The amount of things that went wrong last year was insane, and the roster was built in a way that instead of trying to fit around lebron felt like it was trying to not fit around him, along with a coach that was pathetically bad and a staff that wasnt good enough for the NCAA

With everyone somewhat healthy they were the fourth seed and on the rise, mgee had pneumonia and went from servicable to unplayable, rondo was garbage, beasley had a personal tragedy, ingram had blood clots, lebron played through a hip injury after awhile and you could tell, lonzo missed 30 games and they were 25-22 with him healthy, the lakers got open shots and missed a ridiculous amount of open looks and were dead last at converting wide open threes

Kemba is really clutch (no pun). I think he would be fine in LA

If the lakers sign a 3rd star of course. If they don't, this looks like a bad deal IMO

Guys are going to know that they have legit shot at a title with AD and LeBron. We should be able to nab a third star.

Sure. And the next time he (Kemba) plays defense will also be his first...

Playing alongside Lebron and AD, what we need from the 3rd star is shooting and perimeter defense. Klay and Kawhi fits the bill perfectly. Kyrie fills the shooting need but the defense is lacking. Kemba is a worse version of Kyrie. Butler provides defense but shooting is average.

In order of who makes our team better 1. Kawhi 2. Klay 3. Butler 4. Kyrie 5. Kemba

Boom! My feelings exactly Karacha. I'm thrilled we got this done. I'm truly stoked to have Lebron and AD as a duo for now, and we have the room and draw now to grab a top tier FA. I'll mis Lonzo's game a lot, but I'm also so glad that we got to keep one of our young guys in Kuz.

I am stoked we got AD. The Lakers have been great with a great big man. I really loved what Zo "potentially" had and what BI was showing but I'd take AD for them period. That being said, it is good to see Lakers fans already going full on Lakers fans by complaining about the trade. SMH.

On another note I really think Kyrie will try to come to LA. I'd love Kawhi but I'm not sure what he is going to do like everyone else. I'm excited for next season already. AND we kept Kuz which was my favorite of the young guys.

LOL .... Caruso now in the Kurt Warner role straight out of the supermarket. Do it AC!!

    :Moeshaka:

Hey Moe .... speaking of you .... step your game up this year and make some noise. Get some man muscle on you, tighten up your handles a bit and work with Kuz's shooting instructor.

That's what I'm saying. Whatever. I just get annoyed with this "the Rambis family is orchestrating a coup in the HO". Like Rob answers to Kurt or something, or Kurt is angling for that in effect. As long as Mr. Rambis is not a disguised certain someone ......

    :Kareemlook:

    :KobePoint:

..... it's fun other than the Rambis hysteria spread. IMHO. :p No offense.
