That’s why we need to keep Kuz instead of him in that AD package. I would think the Lakers FO is cost conscious, so hopefully they hold on.

cost conscious? really? if you sign a max guy whats the 1 more or 1 less yr of signing somone? bi is better than kuz, kuz scores great but shot poorly from 3s and one of the worse rated defenders at his position

I wonder if the Timberwolves could potentially be a third team to grease the wheels.....

    Timberwolves - # 4 / Solomon Hill

    Lakers - AD

    Pelicans - Lonzo / Kuzma / Wiggins / # 11 Minny / Lakers 1st

Vegas has the Lakers as the favorites to win the championship in 2019-2020, which means they are pricing in a AD deal.

Vegas also had Kawhi going to Clippers/Toronto as equal odds.

I am really crossing my fingers the AD trade comes through. The league is wide open next year with major injuries to KD and Klay. The warriors might not even make the playoffs in the West. The contenders out West would them be Houston, OKC, Denver, Portland...Lakers? Vegas wouldn’t be wrong. A healthy LeBron and AD can take down all these teams in a 7 game series

Add in a Year 4 Ingram and maybe the rest of our cap space split between Vucevic and Darren Collison...if healthy that team can give a HEALTHY Warriors team a run for their money.

I like both of them, but they are neither as effective as Vucevic and Collison. Collison is a little younger and shot 9% better from deep (31% to 40%). Vucevic is an all star. Brook had a nice run in the playoffs, but Vucevic averaged 20 and 12. In no universe within the multiverse does Brolo ever average 12 rebounds.

He doesn't have to, but Brolo isn't capable of doing that. The nice thing about Vucevic is he CAN do it. He has done it. There will be nights when AD or Lebron are off. We would still have a center who can step up and chip in 20 ppg. That's a big deal. It's all about weapons. Obviously Lebron and AD are 1 and 1a. Ingram is probably option 3. Having an all-star who averaged 20 and 12 is a nice luxury. He would probably allow us to do a little "Load Management" on Lebron and AD as well.

Kuz fits with Lebron. I still don’t see how AD, Lebron and BI works out on the floor together. BI is ball dominate and stops the flow. Lebron already does that, but at least he facilitates and can run the pick and roll with AD.

And Kuz has a shooting coach, so I doubt he doesn’t improve by the season.

Ingram WAS figuring it out before the injury. I think we all knew Ingram was going to have an adjustment period playing next to Lebron as their games overlap in a lot of ways (with Lebron being better at everything obviously). But in the end, they are both long wings who can handle the ball and Ingram is the only one of our kids that has superstar potential. Lebron won't be here forever. Kuzma, as much as I like him, is honestly a nice 6th man/scoring punch off the bench. You can't have him playing too many monutes in crunch time when he defense is essentially worse than half the guys on this message board.

I see that. But it is difficult to forecast too far into the future. We don’t know who the other pieces will be, even this season. I just feel for that the next two years, it will be Kuz that can mesh more than BI. Kuz can start or come off the bench and it works out. I expect Kuz’s shooting to be much better this season considering his focus on shooting this summer. I think BI’s bodyweight will still be an issue for for the next 2 years. And in 2 years cost will be more of an issue regarding BI than Kuz.

The body weight thing with BI won’t be a thing.

He’s like Durant, he’ll never fill out like you think. But he’s still very strong and lanky to shoot and finish over most defenders. What Ingram needs to work on is his decision making. Most of the time his issues are turning it over driving into a crowd or being indecisive with his midrange. He needs to be able to think and make the decision whether it’s an early pass out of a double or attacking on a mismatch. He should work with Lebron with his vision.

I don’t know where the notion started that Kuz works more on his craft then BI. The coaches had to ban BI from the gym because he was sneaking in for extra workouts. I’m not saying that Kuz doesn’t work hard, he obviously does. Just that if anything they are even but I think BI is lives and breathes basketball. Kuz has more of a social life.

Hearing that the hold up on the Bulls deal is Griffin. He's a little displeased with the haul the Pelicans are getting in comparison to the Bulls and Lakers. Last thing he wants is to be perceived as the "loser" in his first major transaction with the Pelicans. Good news is, at least he's serious about the deal.

One thing the Lakers are missing in my opinion, is the fact that the Pelicans are on the clock here. If they're getting new lottery picks, they have to do their research on who to select. Missing the target can be franchise altering for many years, as you saw with the Wolves passing on Steph Curry. And Thursday is right around the corner.

    Best,
    Mr. Rambis

Lakers should keep the #4. I still think Garland might end up being the best player in the draft when it's all said and done.

I still feel the pressure is on Griffin moreso than the Lakers. Its kind of hard to imagine they would want to trade with a western conference team especially considering the Vegas odds of what adding AD will mean for the Lakers season. He could be handing the Lakers a championship run.
